My original RM-C1502-1C remote [gradually] stopped working. Bought a new one. This worked perfectly for 1 day then stopped working except randomly/intermittently.

Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing each button on it at a time; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Toshiba 32a14 does not respond to remote control

Hello
There is a infrared light sensor inside the TV which detects the infrared rays emitted from the remote control, when we press each button on the remote control. If this sensor has got damaged, the set won't respond to any remote control handset. The sensor can be located just behind the infrared sensor window at the front panel of the TV. To access it, you have to open the TV. It is a three terminal component, will be soldered diretily to front panel circuit board, of with the main baord itslef. Will look somewhat brownish black in colour. There are so many types can be seen . Just look what type if fitted with your TV.

Tv remote not working

Hello
Check the remote control for its infrared emission first. You can check it with the help of a cellphone with camera. Eventhough human eye cannot detect infrared rays, electronic cameras can. Put your cellphone to camera mode, place the remote control [ replace its batteries with new ones]; at about one feet away from the camera lens, and press each button on the remote control. If infrared emission is there, you can see its image on the cellphome camera screen. If there is infrared emission for all button press of remote control; the infrared sensor inside your TV is faulty. It should be replaced with same type and number. If there is no infrared images, the remote control is not working, and should be replaced. Check the battery contacts of the remote battery compartment for any rust or dirt. Clean it well before replacing new batteries into it. OK.

Does not work

Hello
Check its battery contacts first. In remote controls, if battery contacts get rusted or dusty, proper battery connection will not occur. If battery contacts are good, check its infrared emission. You can check it with the help of a cellphone with camera option. Put the cellphone to camera mode, and place the remote control just one feet away from its lens, and push each button on the remote control. Eventhough human eye cannot detect infrared rays, electronic cameras can. If there is infrared rays emitting, you can see its image on the cellphone screen. If not, be sure that the remote contro is faulty. If there is infrared image, and still the device you wants to control does not respond; infrared sensor inside your device is faulty, and should be replaced. OK.

Tv remote does not work (2 different remotes). Suspect IR reciever blown. Can this be replaced? label says RMC 2101. Where would I purchase a replacement?

Hello
Before you replace the Infrared Sensor inside your TV, you just check whether the two remotes in your possesion is working or not. Some times there won't be no infrared signals goes from them. That may be also the cause. Isn't it?
An easiest way is there to check this. Certainly you must have a cellphone with camera. Put the phone into camera mode, and point your remote's infrared LED side, that is front side, in front of the camera lens of your phone, and press buttons on the remote control. The most cellphone cameras can detect it and will show the indication of your phone's screen. Mine is an iPhone and it detects well.
If it has, your TVs infrared sensor inside is faulty. You have to resolder it from board, and go for a same type and number. It has a number printed [usually laser print] on it. Insist on it and buy the same and solder it to place. Do not apply more heat to its leges while soldering. Excess heat can damage it. Do it as quick as you can, but must be firm. Ok
Wish you success.

I would suggest replacing the senor bar, it is not that uncommon that one the the Infrared LED's in the sensor bar to have burned out or go bad.

You can check on RCA.com to see if they carry a remote for that player as a part (usually they do). Can you tell if there is anything wrong with the infrared sensor on the dvd player?
