Typically, an audio output jack puts out 5W of power. Since it was plugged into an active device, it couldn't have overloaded the sound card per se.

    I would like to ask:

    1) What type of connector did you use to plug to the PC? RCA jack, stereo pin jack or mono pin jack?

    2) What port in the stereo did you plug it in?

Part of my speakers are just not working. Hooked up, and unhooked and re hooked, but not all speakers working. Right now just 2 of seven are working.

If u have a surround sound card that supports up to the amount of speakers u have (5.1 or 7.1) try change the speaker settings in control pannel as follows.

Start>control pannel>sound>
and see if u have the setting on stereo, if so change it to the 5.1 or 7.1 setting.

If u have software on the otherhand for your sound card you can configure the settings there to change from stereo to surround sound.

Hope this helped :)

Go back to square 1. Unhook the wires from the switch box. Get the 300 ohm screws and hook up the wires the normal way. Try changing the sound card.

Stereo display works fine, but no sound to speakers.

The wires may have gotten wet and fried something in the sound output in the stereo.
