Speakers dont work because of updated softwere how do i get it to work

uninstall the updated software if you can thru add/remove programs. If not then go into your start menu and go into programs, accessories, system tools, and then go into system restore, choose to restore the computer back to an earlier time.

A calendar will then come up, choose a date in bold earlier then when the problem started happening and let the system restore back to that date. System will reboot and then the changes that were made by the updated software will be gone.

If you still don't get sound go into the device manager and make sure the sound doesn't have a red X on it cause that will mean it is disabled. If it is disabled then enable it. Also make sure your speakers aren't muted thru the speaker icon.

If these steps don't get sound back then reinstall the sound drivers which are located here:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=2684&l=en&s=pub&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=&SystemID=DIM_CEL_3000

Choose your Operating system and go into the audio section and download and install.

If that doesn't work then you might have to restore your computer back to factory defaults and if that doesn't do the trick then that means either the sound card or the integrated sound on your motherboard is bad depending on which one you have. If its integrated sound then the motherboard would have to be replaced.

No audio from pc connected using hdmi

Are you not getting audio to the television speakers and the onkyo reciever speakers when connected HDMI thru the reciever or just the television. If it is just thru the television then it is because the reciever is grabbing the HDMI audio signal and converting it so it does not reach the TV. If it is both then try changing the HDMI signal output from PCM to DOLBY DIGITAL on the computer. Your reciever may not be able to process the PCM signal of the computer. Does the reciever show a PCM or DOBLY DIGITAL display when HDMI is hooked up to it?

You can try shutting off Audio Hardware Acceleration.

Start > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Advanced (Under Speaker Settings) > Performance.

My One Speaker is sounding

Dear,

If the driver is updated, and the speaker balance is correct, true to move the jack, insert and remove it, while playing sound, see what happens.

It could be a wiring problem.

Did the sound suddenly go or it happened after something specific?

Have a great day.

Sound is not working on my hp laptop

I had the same problem; my laptop's speakers suddenly stopped working but I could still use the headphones and sound was fine.

I played around a while and searched the net; and I got them to work:

Open Control Panel- Sound, Speech, Audio Devices-------->
1) Audio Tab
2) Under 'Sound Playback' hit Advanced
3) At the bottom where it has Speaker Setup change it to "Laptop Stereo Speakers" (mine was initially on "Desktop Stereo Speakers" for some odd reason)

Problem solved, Thank God (Alhamdulilah)!

Hope it works out for you :)

No Sound Now on Computer

Might be trivial, but try the volume controls, that little speaker icon on the Windows task bar.
