Hi, Your mic may be working but may have been muted by Windows. To un mute it you must click open the Volume icon in the right bottom corner of the screen. When the box opens, you will find the mic option muted. Un mute it and talk away.

I had the same exact problem. The correct driver for the minicam pro 98756 version 2 are not found anywhere online.

However, the
98083 Minicam Pro driver will work with Minicam Pro 98756 version 2. I have just tried it out myself.

GE MiniCam Pro

I realized that my daughter didn't follow the directions exactly. So I un-installed the drivers and then just like the directions said. I loaded the drivers without the camera plugged into the computer. After the drivers were loaded I rebooted my computer and then plugged the camera in and it worked. Hmmm funny thing that it works when you follow the directions from the beginning.
