Re: Eureka Maxima Bagless brush not spinning in vacuum...

Belt doesnt have to be broken, check the metal arm on the vacuum, see if there is build up of old rubber from previous belts, clean the arm that spins the belt and double check to make sure u have the correct belt

Eureka Model Whirlwind litespeed. The rotart brush does not turn or rotate. Should it turn or rotate in order to give better suction?

Hello fnintel, yes, if you are using the upright vacuum it should spin, ( the belt likely slipped off, or the brush is clogged with hair and the likes.)
However, if you are using the hose on the vacuum like a shop vac, some models bypass the rotary brush.
Good luck!

My eureka 5902 4D bagless uprights roller brush stopped spinning. The belt is ok. This model has a sliding switch for roller speed. The brush should spin when you release the handle via the foot release....

The same thing happened to me about a year ago with this very model.
The issue on mine was a small, copper-colored metal wheel that attaches to the end of the brush roller. You'll need to remove the top cover (there are several screws).

Once it's off, you should see the belt, the beater brush, and the metal gear. The gear didn't fit correctly - so the motor just spins without moving the brush. I ended up going to the store and buying superglue that withstands high tempuratures, then gluing the gear to the motor's shaft... and hammering the thing into place before the glue 'set' too much. ...Not fun, but it's working and has been ever after. I can take photos of the thing if need be.

Eureka 4870 roller only spins in upright

if the belt has been slipping it may have pollished the moteror brush shaft and it just slips. take a small piece of sand paper or enery cloth and ruffen up the shaft to give it some grip.
if the metal shaft of the motor has been heated up due to slippage it will take some doing to ruffun it as the shaft will be hardend due to heat

Eureka Altima Bagless Upright Brush is not spinning

You probably just have a broken belt. The belt needs to be changed about every 6 months regardless. I believe yours takes a style EXT U(Extended life upright), or a regular Eureka "U" belt works fine too.

Low suction on Eureka spinduster vacuum cleaner

The belt has stretch enough so as to not drive the brush roll under load. Try a new belt.

Eureka Uno brush not spinning

There are 2 or 3 screws on the top to take out and the top cover will come off. Belt is #61120A U long life, brush roll if you need it is #62365-2. If the brushs look ok and the ends turn freely, then it is probably ok. The belt goes around the brush roll then up to the motor shaft.

Eureka 4700a bagless vacuum

it's probably the lower tube that is plugged, disconnect the lower tube at the elbow, use a large pipe cleaner (bent at the end your pushing through, as to not puncture the tube itself.) it should emerge just behind the brush. check in and around the pipe cleaner for any debris.
