Nortech Navigator e-gps010 map updates

The inst book says go to Destinator for map upgrades - Destinator says go to Nortech - their website is void of map updates - how can I download map updates?

    • Yes, I am having the same problem with my (Christmas present) E-GPS010 Nortech Navigator... I think it sucks we can't get the needed information!

      I went to the microsoft website where I was suppose to be able to download something into my PC to help download the software from: www.Destinatortechnologies.com . It didn't happen.



      My wife and I planned to go to an ELKS function this weekend in Dallas and was wanting to have the locations all mapped out.

    • I too have the same, ongoing, problem with the NVX226 concerning map updates. I purchased my unit at Christmas 2006. There is somewhere in the unit where you can check the map software version. I can't remember at the moment how I did it, but it is NavTec 2005?????



      I could live with that at the time of purchase since it was not even 1 year old. However, after more than 1 year of being given the run around with Audiovox customer service that it would be avaialable at various times, here it is 2008 and the latest map software is from 2005. For somethig that totally relies on updates to be of the greatest benefit, this is just totally unacceptable.



      On a good note, my unit has worked OK however, given this total lack of "after sales support" on this product, I would never by another Audiovox anything again.



      Come on guys!!!!!! It has been 3 years, where is the mapping software update??????

Power cords are the same as Sirius power cords. I got one on E-bay and it works great!

I emailed ferro-works.com and asked about if they could email a update or a link and they replied the latest map update for the e-gps10 is 2006, Mine says is was manufactured 10/2006 so it looks like they made it upgradable and havn't bothered to upgrade it yet if they plan to at all. A posting on the web said you could buy a Destinator upgrade, I looked and I couldn't find one for Nortech and the others were $99. I paid $99 for the navigator on discount so I wouldn't pay another $99 for a upgrade myself.

I have solved the problem, go to any electronics store or Wal-mart, etc, and buy something different.

I bought a tomtom.

Newest update was 2006 (05 maps)
Just got the disc today from Nortech.
Will upload soon.

I bought one used now all it does it load and Show a progress bar

I gotta agree... I have been totally disapionted with the support of Nortech GPS by it's manufacturer. I purchased my unit in 2007 only to find it had 2003 software installed. After harassing the manufacturer rep with email for 3 months, did I get reply. They finally sent me a 2005 disk that was so worn that my system could not read it.

Big thanks to Spyderdog8 !!!! I bought a Sirius power cord online for 14 bucks and it works grreat, also it seems my Notech GPS has updated itself recently. It used to take me off in a field when on the way to the Orlando airport, now it takes me on the right roads. That's a little encouraging... Tracey

You can contact Ferro Works and they will send you a new CD with maps on it. They were not very clear on how updated the Version is. I called them and had a commitment of a new CD to be sent to me within fifteen minutes of dialing.
