I have a Pioneer VSX D412 S receiver with my Pioneer surround sound system The system SUDDENLY STOPPED RECEIVING SOUND SIGNAL FROM MY HD TV

  1. Turn the TV and receiver off and back on. This is called "power cycling" the devices.
  2. Check the menu settings to make certain the TV is still sending a sound signal out to the receiver.
  3. Disconnect the cable, blow both ends out, reconnect, and see if the cable was partially disconnected or has dust or lint interfering with the connections.
  4. Change the cable for another cable that you know to be working.
  5. Use a different source for the TV: DVD, Cable, different channel, etc.
  6. Connect the receiver to another TV.

I am not getting sound from the marantz 5009 receiver to the tv. I am using hdmi cables from receiver to the tv

Huh? why? would you not want to get sound from the lousy TV speaker to the receiver and it speakers instead? That's how I have my Onkyo THX system set-up. My Samsung TV actually has decent speakers but even they are junk compared to a real speaker system. Even $500 worth of real speakers can sound better then the speakers on a $5000 TV. Do not do it.

I can not complete my connection HDMI between my TV and my receiver. pioneer VSX 522k. there is no sound, i tried connecting the TV to the receiver no luck, i tried both the TV and Cable to the receiver...

I despise this receiver. It has a mind of it's own and I cannot get it to work. I have had fits for 2 years with the Optical output and TV sound only working every now and then. I am not a sound guy but have competently set up dozens of home systems and worked in bar/restaurant industry dealing with sound systems. This thing is a piece of over or under engineered POS

Sony receiver made pop noise and all sound systems went mute.what are my options? STR-DE425 sony receiver with surround sound, dvd player,cd player and tv all connected thru receiver...

It sounds like the output ic's may have failed, because of the complexity of system I would have a professional come and look at the unit for an evaluation, chances are he will need to take it back to the shop for service.

Does the ks3102 need a stand alone receiver to make surround sound?

Hi, It all depends on the system you are using. Most sound systems sub woofers comes with in built Amplifier, So if the system your using does not have amplifier to amplify and make the sound system sound better,That means, you will have to get a receiver for your system for great performance.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for using fixya....

No play back from HDTV to threater system

Do you have set-top-box or antenna-cable directly to TV?
You have connected TV with received via HDMI, but that won't work in this direction - TV has HDMI INput only, not output.
You can use HDMI to connect HDMI-out on DVD player for example to HDMI-in on receiver and HDMI-out of receiver to HDMI-in on TV.
But to get sound from TV to the receiver, use spdif optical or coax cable if TV supports that - this way you will get surround sound.
But also your connection via analog white/red RCA plugs should work, but only for stereo sound.

Sound Problems with HD TV

This seems to be a problem that has to do with your HDMI audio output.
First check in your TV setting if audio out is selected on your correct HDMI port. Than check if your receiver is able to receive audio via HDMI (i assume you used the HDMI connection). Some receivers have HDMI IN connections but are not able to receive audio on it, the latest receivers/sets do have this feature. If your receiver doesnot support audio IN via HDMI you can only do one thing, connect the stereo audio-out of your TV to an AUX IN connection on your receiver.
