The black ink has stopped printing. Put in two different new cartridges and that doesn't seem to be the problem. It was first noticed when photos were printing out funny even after changing the color...

Make sure you are inserting genuine Lexmark cartridges.
Try to clean the cartridge nozzles. Refer to the steps below:

Cleaning the Print Cartridge Nozzles:

1. Open the Lexmark Solution Center. Click Start > Programs or All Programs > Lexmark 1300 Series. Select Solution Center.

2. From the Maintenance tab, click Clean to fix horizontal streaks.

3. Click Print. A nozzle page prints, forcing ink through the nozzles to clean the clogged nozzles.

4. Print the document again to verify that print quality has improved.

Using the control panel

1. Press Menu.

2. Press the down arrow button until you highlight Clean Cartridge.

3. Press Select. A nozzle page prints, forcing ink through the nozzles to clean the clogged nozzles.

4. Print the document again to verify that print quality has improved.

Replaced T0603 magenta ink with brand new cartridge. Ink levels show its FULL. But when do nozzle print check, no magenta line will print. Trying to pring something with red clip art and can't get the...

Depending on when you last used your printer it may take a few head cleans before the ink prints. Print a nozzle check after each clean (uses minimal ink).

Also be aware each clean depletes your other carts as well.

Replaced both print cartridges but print is faded blue

Solution: There are a number of steps you can take to solve this problem (in order of easiest & least expensive first).

1. Make sure you have tried printing a nozzle check and you've carried out all the maintenance tasks that the manual alows (align print head, clean print head etc).
2. Your cartridge may be faulty. Ink cartridges that use non-genuine ink are of variable quality and you use them at your own risk. Even genuine cartridges can expire if used after the expiry date. Bad ink can clog your nozzle. It may be that you have a dried-out ink cartridge - try another one if you have one handy.
3. The print head may need cleaning. There are Canon print head cleaning kits available (use Google top right) or you could try doing this yourself - some people have had success immersing the print head (not the cartridge) in cleaning alcohol, warm water or using compressed air to gently blow through the nozzles.

The magenta ink won't print & it's not the cartridge

Hi, one or two head cleans won't clear a clogged nozzle. Try doing 4 or 5 head cleans, wait about 10 hours for the ink to soften and do another 3 or 4 cleans with a nozzle check after each. You should see a gradual improvement in the nozzle checks. If there is no improvement then you need a head cleaning solution such as this one:
http://www.powerklin.co.uk/?gclid=CNGDypir-JgCFQ4yQgodZlC4lw
Others are available just try googling "inkjet head cleaning". The nozzles on the print heads are finer than a human hair, even if you could get at them without a major strip down I wpouldnt recommend it as they can easily be damaged.
Note that head cleaning uses between 5 and ten percent of your ink cart's, if any are low on ink have some new ones ready. Hope this helps.
Please take a moment to rate this solution, thanks.

Lexmark X5320 won't print acts like it's printing but paper is blamk, also tells me right ink is wrong( it is not)

Hello there,

The most common cause for printing blank pages is (1) Failure to remove the protective tape from the bottom of the cartridge. Even if you have removed the tape, there might be some residual tape left at the bottom of the cartridge. I would suggest you check out for this yellow or/and transparent blue tape at the bottom. Please remove it, if present. (2) If there is no tape left behind, then the next option is to clean the cartridge nozzles. I would suggest you go to Lexmark control program or Lexmark Solution Center and run the clean nozzle test. You should see solid dark lines on the print out. Repeat the process 2-3 times till you get a good output. (3) If all the above steps fails, don't worry.. we have one last thing to try... Remove the carts from the printer.. take a warm damp paper towel Set the ink cartridge right side up on the damp paper towel so that the ink nozzles are touching the towel, and hold the cartridge in this position for about 15 seconds. The nozzles are where the ink comes out of the cartridge. Repeat this process atleast two times and then put the carts back to the printer after 1 min (we need to allow the cart contacts to dry). Now you can install the cart to the printer and try printing. If you still have a problem with the cart, then I would suggest you try another cart as there should be something wrong with the cart that you have right now.

Merry Christmas!

Will not print

Most likely your print head is clogged, there are 2,00 some nozzle's in it. If the printer is not used for a moderate amount of time the ink can dry up and cause a clog in those nozzle's. You can try taking out ink carts, powering down with ink carts out. Unplug the power wait a few seconds with out power, power back on, wait for missing ink cart prompt, put ink carts back in close access door, wait for it to get done making noise then proceeed in doing a printhead clean from the main menu, or homecenter->?->maintenance. Then after that do a calibration, print a demo sheet to see if there is any improvment. The printhead clean pushes ink through the nozzles to try to clear clogs. The calibration scans those nozzles to see which are avalible to use, and makes sure that all the avalible nozzles are being used. If this does not fix the problem you most likely need a printhead but you will have to call kodak; as they are not avalible in stores. Also you can try updating your firmware from kodak home center, or www.kodak.com/go/downloads

White lines in the printout

If the lines are horizontal (across the page) it is quite possible that your refilled carts are at fault. I would suggest you try the underhead cleaning method as described in my previous post - http://www.fixya.com/support/t138226-printer_not_printing If this has little effect I would suggest you bin the refilled carts and get a full set of genuine ones to put in. The refill process can easily introduce air into the sponge which retains it and causes the ink to foam. This is then dragged down into the print head and and causes problems with print quality. If you still have issues after the underhead cleaning and new carts have been installed, get in touch with The Service Manual Shop and get the Epson software they have which allows you to make lots of adjustments to the printer. You should try running the alignment routines to check the Bi-Di printing is inline.
