Error Code: Lens Error 113,0,0,0

After charging the camera for only the second time, we get this lens error code when we turn the camera on and then it shuts itself off. Any ideas?

We just got the M753 about a month ago and its keeps on giving me this lens error?....I opens the memory on the camera if I go to favorites but If I go to take a picture it will automatically turn off

I bought my kodak camera M753 less than a year ago and one day I brought it to the beach with me. I wanted to go swim so I put it in my purse and went out to swim. When I got back in I picked up my things and left. When I got home it said I had a lens error 113,0,0,0. I tried waiting a while, but it has been a few weeks now. I can go into my favourites and click review to see my pictures, but other wise I cannot do anything with my camera because it automaticly shuts off. I have tried shaking my camera to see if any sand got into it but nothing different happened. Do you think you can help me? =)

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension.

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for about 50% of lens errors, but they're worth a try:

1. You could try recharging the cameras battery.

2. If you wanted to you could throw against the wall. -I heard if you throw it at the wall it will work again but i dont know i never did it.

Error 99 when using Quantum Transceiver

Error code 99 is a non specific error code a sort of catch all. Remove the lens and clean the contacts (lens and camera), remove the battery and the memory card. Leave the camera in this state for about 10 mins, enough time to discharge any build up of charge or static. Reinsert the battery and the memory card and reattach the (cleaned) lens switch on leave for 5 seconds and press the shutter button to see if this has cleared to problem.

Hi i had an e18 error appear and the lens was stuck. the lens is now going in and out but the focus is compleatley shot every thing is blured any ideas?? thanks

Hi,

"E18" indicates an error that involves the lens unit or lens cover in your camera .This error appears where the lens is prevented from properly extending or retracting .The error may also be displayed if the lens camera has been subjected to an external shock, or if a foreign substance (i.e. liquid, sand, dirt) enters the camera.Hold the camera so that your fingers do not touch the lens unit when you are shooting. Make sure the camera is off before the camera is placed back in the case. Exercise caution to ensure that the camera does not accidentally power on while the camera is stored inside the case.If you cannot clear the error code by turning the camera off and then on again, or if the error code is displayed frequently, a camera malfunction may have occurred and might require service from canon. Or else try pressing the power button on and held it down while extending the zoom lens. The lens will extend out and the camera will be freed from the error.

Thank you !!

I have a Canon PowerShot SD790 IS. The camera turns on, the lens comes out and that's it. Then it shuts down and the code E16 shows up. Can't seem to find anything on that code that tells me what the...

The error message indicates an error that involves the lens unit or lens cover.
This error may appear where the lens is prevented from properly extending or retracting such as, for example, when pressure is applied to the lens or the area surrounding the lens while handling the camera. The error may also be displayed if the lens unit/camera has been subjected to an external shock, or if liquid, sand or dirt enters the camera.
This issue may also happens if the Battery is not fully charged.

In this case, charge the battery completely then try to turn on the camera. Furthermore, try resetting the Camera to the original factory settings. You may also try hitting the lens gently against your palm after turning it ON.

If the issue persists then service is required.

Canon SD1000 lens error

Turn off the Camera, remove the Battery pack, then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

Reinsert the Battery, then buzz around the lens for a few times then check if it works. Make sure that the Battery is fully charged.

The error message indicates that the lens is not able to adjust itself.

The "E18" or "Lens" error message indicates an error that involves the lens unit or lens cover.
This error may appear where the lens is prevented from properly extending or retracting such as, for example, when pressure is applied to the lens or the area surrounding the lens while handling the camera. The error may also be displayed if the lens unit/camera has been subjected to an external shock, or if a foreign substance (i.e. liquid, sand, dirt) enters the camera. Solution
Check the following when you operate the camera to avoid applying pressure to the lens and surrounding area:
  • Hold the camera so that your fingers do not touch the lens unit when you are shooting.
  • Make sure the camera is off before the camera is placed back in the case. Exercise caution to ensure that the camera does not accidentally power on while the camera is stored inside the case.
If you cannot clear the error code by turning the camera off and then on again, or if the error code is displayed frequently, a camera malfunction may have occurred and might require service

This is probably THE single most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html
