Re: Help I have no sound coming from computer

Hi, am sorry your having such a problem let me try to help you locating where was installed and perhaps re-installing it. First of all your gonna hit "START" or if you have windows vista click on the Windows logo on the lower left corner of your monitor. From there look for the "My Computer" and left click on it, once you do that a menu will appear, on that menu select the last option which is "Properties" in properties look for a tab or a button that says "DEVICE MANAGER" and click on it. If you have windows vista just click on the windows logo on the search bar type "Device Manager". that we are on device manager look for "Sound, Video and game Controllers" or something related to your sound. Hit the plus sign a menu will show, now left click on the proper link for your sound and hit properties. On properties for your audio go to the driver tab. There you go, you have options of uninstalling such driver, reinstalling the driver, or updating the driver. Let me now if I can be of further assistance to you. Good Luck!

Dell laptop headphone sound on out headphone no sound

Sound Loss in Dell Computer Headphones b> Most Dell computers have special hardware and software that are set up to automatically adjust the configuration of the headphone ports when headphones are connected, muting the primary speakers in the process. If no sound is coming out of your headphones, this is most likely caused by a configuration issue that can be resolved with a few simple steps.

Basic Headphone Troubleshooting
If no sound is coming from your headphones, confirm that the headphones work properly by using them with a different device. After this, confirm that the headphones are plugged into the proper jack. If your CD/DVD drive has a headphone jack in front, audio will only be played through this jack when you are playing a disc. On a desktop computer, the correct jack to use for headphones is usually color-coded green, while notebook computers will have headphone icons next to the correct jacks. Finally, check the speaker icon in the system tray to make sure that your sound output is not muted. b> Troubleshooting Notebooks b> Most Dell notebooks use a special type of audio jack. The jack, along with the sound drivers that are installed, automatically detect whether headphones or speakers are plugged in and adjust the sound output accordingly. If this does not happen when headphones are plugged in, the sound drivers may be at fault. Visit the Dell support website and download the most recent sound drivers for your notebook. If this does not help, some users have reported success with removing the sound drivers completely and letting Windows install generic drivers automatically. Last Resort b> If all other options have been exhausted, the last resort in troubleshooting a headphone jack is running a complete system recovery operation. This will completely erase all of the information on your primary hard drive partition and reinstall Windows along with the drivers for all of your hardware. This is an extreme measure, as you will lose all of the information that you have stored on the hard drive. However, it will resolve the issue if it is caused by a software problem. If the issue remains, the headphone jack must be replaced. Hope this helps.

My pc says no audio output device installed, but in device manager it says its working properly and the drivers are up to date

Well it is possible that the audio driver installed is not the one compatible with you computer board. Try downloading the specific driver needed for your computer's official website. This should solve your problem.
