How can i get the parts list for M400? A computer friend of mine took apart my Toshiba M400 after it slid off the table and landed on its AC adaptor. He opened the unit and found the problem, but we are having a hard time finding a parts list to order a replacement part.

Leaving the Gateway Nv52 battery in a laptop while using an electrical outlet for long periods of time will keep the battery in a constant state of charging up and that will reduce the life cycle of the battery.

I have and had three M400's, and an M200. I can tell you that in most cases, it is cheaper to go on eBay and buy an M400 which has a bad screen, or is in poor condition.

Please message me and let me know what part you are looking for.

Remove password bios toshiba portege m400 please!

Here is a guide toremove windows passwordwith Windows Password Recovery Tool Professional from http://www.windowspasswordsrecovery.com/Step1: Download and install Windows Password Recovery Tool.
Step2: Burn CD/DVD/USB Flash Drive. (Namely it is to burn a Windows password reset disk.)
Step3: Set the target computer boot from CD/DVD or USB.
Step4:Remove the forgotten Windows passwordwith the burned CD/DVD/USB. Then log on to Windows without a password.
Of course, you can also finish Windows password remover if you have a password reset disk in advance. That's also an easy solution.

My m400 wont start at all, just an orange light blinks at the power light

have you had any power surges lately?
Try taking the battery out of the laptop and starting just on power.
if this doesnt help then take battery and power and leave laptop for few hours then try again on only power or battery.

Let us know how it goes.

My portege M400 wont start up. The led light is blinking orange in a steady even pattern. I have tried removing the battery but that doesnt change anything. The screen is blank, and the fan is loud.

I have the M400 and it also does this. I don't know much about computers, but I found out when you apply a little pressure to the left of the touchpad and beneath the keyboard as you're flipping on the power slider, it boots up much more often. I know... sounds crazy and stupid, but it works for mine and it's been doing it for almost a whole year now. It doesn't work everytime, but whenever the light flashes and the fan cranks up to a million RPM i just pull the battery out

Clock of the computer

This means that the cmos battery on the motherboard is flat and keeps losing time and date and probably the memory settings, this is only a small disc shaped watch type battery CR2032 and can be found on the motherboard, a pc repair shop would be able to do it for you for a small fee.

Bluetooth

you need to get the device introduced to each other. Turn on the bluetooth on the computer. Check Control Panel, Programs(for Toshiba Blue Tooth) or Check device manger to make sure the blue tooth is not disabled. Check the manual that came with your phone. You will need to put them in find mode and they should find each other. Here is the Toshibe site and booth info: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_docTOC.jsp?moid=1209152&ct=RG&soid=1328782&BV_SessionID=@@@@0630805741.1171140917@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccciaddkedlmlgicgfkceghdgngdgmn.0 Good Luck, Tim
