Question about SanDisk ULTRA II 4GB Compact Flash Card Flash

1 Answer

Card errors Hi, a friend bought this sandisk card and his camera broke, before having chance to use it, as he gave it to me in its original packaging. I unpacked the card and inserted into to my girls camera and message appeared that Card is Full. Connected it to Mac and wouldn't recognise the card. Connected it to Pc, recognized the card, and when I tried formatting Windows message saying drive cannot be formatted. Any Solutions or ideas please??? Camera is Vivitar ViviCam 6324...not top of range but my girlfriend has 3 sd cards and not a problem with any of them. Thanks for any help.

I suspect that the format of the camera is different than that of the computer. When I have run into similar problems, I have had success reformating the disk in the camera. If yours will not work, try another!...Dave

Canon PowerShot SD 630 Digital Elph "Memory Card Error"

Hi,
I'm sorry to tell that PowerShot SD 630 does not support SDHC cards over 2 gig.
If you want the camera to take a card over 2 gig then you are stuck standard SD cards.
The other camera does support the card because it's a higher model.

Regards.

My friend gave me his old SanDisk MicroSD Memory Card after he erased all of the memory off of it because he said he didn't need it anymore. I put it into my Titanium Voyager, and the card doesn't appear....

can it be read in your PC or cardreader?

try reformatting it, the other thought is that your unit cannot read a 2Gb SD card and isd limited to 1GB max. If neither is correct ditch it a 2Gb card is only $8-10 and not worth the stress.

Previous solution is the FAIL. Original poster says it works fine in _camera_, but not in _printer_. _Printer_ is the compatibility issue, not camera.

Message: Memory Card Error - Memory Card Parameter Error on 4gb SDHC card

Hi - You will need to get an SDHC reader and then try the following procedure.

You can either plug in you camera to the PC as it should appear as a “Removable Drive” or put the card in a card reader attached to your PC.

Next, if you are comfortable with using a PC then you can download a FREE utility that will recover your photos from the following link:

http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec

If you need something a little more "user friendly" then you will need to buy the software. If you search the web for photo recovery software you will find many.
One I have used successfully is RescuePro that used to be bundled with some Sandisk products. Now you can get it from the link below:

http://www.lc-tech.com/software/prwindetail.html

You can try the demo to see what you can recover before buying.

Remember - Do NOT try & write anything back to the card until you can recover your pictures to your PC safely!

Please take a moment to rate this solution & let us know if the information given was useful to you – Good Luck!

Memory card error

Hi,

Try reformatting the card in an external card reader and your PC then try inserting into the camera again.

Sandisk memory card

Has this card EVER worked with your camera? Since you didn't mention the model number of the Canon, it's possible that you have a compatiblity issue here. Most 4GB SD cards these days are actually SDHC cards, which store memory differently (in sectors, like a hard disc drive, rather than bytes, like your main memory). All SDHC compatible cameras also support SD cards, but cameras sold before the SDHC standard was created will not support SDHC memory cards.

There's a chance that Canon has a firmware upgrade to solve this. You would have to look on the Canon USA web site for this, based on the model number of your camera.

Try reading the card independent of a camera i.e. on a computer or a photo kiosk to determine if the card is readable damaged

Put new memory card in and it shows "error"

couple possibilities. first I would try formatting the card from a pc. do you buy any chance have a card reader for your computer. in xp you just right click on the card and format it. if that dosn't work there is a chance that the card is defective. go to the store you bought it and see if they can help you there. Sorry if that dosn't help. Have fun in Australia btw. And good luck
