same problem can't seem to change the language from japanese to english. Even read the english user manual but there seem to be no language change option in this japanese version.. Maybe a firmware update would help?

Sony did not add language option in this camera DCW-T10, if you buy it from Japan. But SONY must provide the solution to this problem. I am facing the same problem....

Since the language has been change it's difficult to have a step by step instruction for that. Check this picture and try to change the language back to english.

I mistakenly chose a foreign language on my camera and want to change it back to English. How do I do this.

Press the Menu button. Select Setup (the wrench icon, or else the last item). Select Language (either the waving flag icon, or else "xxx/Language" where xxx is Language in whatever language is currently selected. No matter the language, it should still say "Language" in English after the slash. In that menu, each language is labeled in that language, so you should see "English" as one of the options. Select that, and everything should be back in English.

Go into your manual, and figure out how to navigate to the language menu, then change it there. If you can't figure it out from the menu, try to find a similar camera and use it to go step by step to the language menu, where you will change the option to English. Otherwise, take a language course at your local college!

How to change the language on the camera.

Proceed as follows;

Press the menu button and scroll down to the 6th option press OK

The language change option is the 10th option and it has a logo showing ABC.
Press OK to change to the Language of your choice.

Language

Go to google translate and press the menu button on your camera. Type in language and translate into english. You should be able to highlight the proper sub menu to change the setting from there.

go into the setup menu ("set") by pressing the menu button, and look for the picture of a little man yelling (he's speaking). That's the language set-up. Set it for english.
The self-timer is accessed through the arrow dial. The little picture of the clock at the bottom of the dial is the timer setting. The camera must be in the shooting mode to use the timer, not in playback. Here's a link to the owner's manual http://www.fujifilm.ca/x3717.xml
