I dont have the internet at work, but i have the Canon inkjet MP730 printer which my new computer wont interact with...is there a way i can solve the problem without bringing the printer and the computer both home so i can use the Driver Robot (which i dont want) to get it to work? like a driver device etc?

    had done that already...in the end brought the computer home, but it still wont print out a test page. i suspect that although the system i am running is the 64x Windows, and i downloaded and installed these files the MP730 doesn't seem to want to work with it....
    also tried a new cable as read that in a forum soewhere as a possible solution...

    I did this but the system still wont work. I ended up bringing the whole system home and trying it, and at least now computer sends info to the printer. The printer stated that it did not have the appropriate inks (one time i could not get originals), so bought originals and installed, but although i run the cleaning program, cant print out a test page...

When you are at home go to the Canon Website and download the correct drivers for your operating system directly, the website is;

http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=334&modelid=9035#DownloadDetailAct

Save to a usb stick then take them and install them at work.

Hope this helps.

Waste Ink Near Full on Canon MP730

I dont know the exact process that I have done before, however the trick is to zero your page count, and this worked twice for me. The printer figures your waste ink reservoir (actually a sponge) is near full by a page counter. There are articles out there on how to repair this physically but please dont go there, get a new printer or even better an less used MP730.

Canon MP730 not printing. Printhead cleaning doesn't help.

You may need new print heads. They are around $50. Or, you could do this: Take the print head out of the printer, and run warm water from the tap (not high pressure), over the ports for about 5 minutes. Ink will drop out of the jets. Dont touch the electrical contact end of this head. This may clean the head enough so it works again. If not you need a new print head.
