Power switch replacement

I need a replacement power switch for my eMachines tower. It looks like a tiny push bottun stich, that is snap-mounted right behind the power button on the front bezel of the tower. I checked with the manufacturer, and they do not sell that peticular part. Where can I get one? Thank you.

Re: power switch replacement

Well unfortunately you cant get one to buy for any case or tower, what you will need to do is get your self a new case(tower) or simply find an old case and take one out from it..

Replace power supply

Be sure to look on back of tower to see what power you need. The power plug needs to be 115v or 125v on most. Be sure your cord is the same voltage.

Hi Nicki,
Sorry, this really sounds bad, it would seem that the hard drive is shot from your description. The data may or may not be recoverable. If you get a new drive, you will have to partition it first, then set it as your Master drive, then set the old one as a slave, install your operating system onto the master drive and try to recover the information on the old drive after you have that done. If you cannot successfully recover the information that way, you most likely won't be able to get it at all unless you backed it up onto a flash or cds or dvds.
Sorry for the news but that is what it sounds like

The power button completely broke off my emachine T3090 desktop. How can I get computer to start-up without this button?

You should be able To just reach in there and press it anyways. It depends what emachines uses, but normally it is a little white plastic thing that the button pushes, because it does nothing itself.

Emachine wont reboot windows 7x64 bit when using recovery disk begins to reload windows then bluescreens

Pull any power connection to the PC.. Open the case. Carefully remove the RAM. Looks like this images?q=tbn:and9gcsq9vtdagxhmyucnmvkfn2jrabmmd1ie0ra8zqonf9_f9_u_s2a Held in place with clips at each end. Push the clips down and away from the ram to unlock.
Then replace them by lining up in the slot, and push down firmly to "snap" in to the locks.
They only go one way, so line up the notch also before pushing in place.

This may be enough to fix it. If not, try reseating any other add in cards like video card.
If no joy, re-post back here.

Can i take the mother board out and put it in a gaming tower medium size..

you can if the power switch/reset bottun/power led/hdd led are not proprietary and banded together into a single **** plug. and if the mounting holes and setup will accept a gateway motherboard. but the power switch pin setup is what is the deciding factor in this switch. two wires going into a two prong female little black plug. the same for power led, reset switch yada yada. your gaming case is going to have these. if they match, then go for it it will work. oh and be sure to check the distance between the processor heatsync and fan combo to the power supply. some cases bunch them too close together and in some cases they wont fit in the case, i.e. the powersupply being 2 inches into where the cpu cooler unit should be :(

I had this happen to my emachines T1842 about a year ago. I replaced the power supply and it worked fine. It was about 25 bucks but fixed my problem. Make sure the red switch on the back hasnt been messed with. it should be on 115. If you have moved it, it may have blown a fuse inside the power supply.

There is no toggle/powerbutton on the face of the tower

If this is atx power it should be just push to on button look for something that can be depress. On motherboard connection follow motherboard manual. It should be on a header. Together with the reset, power led light, hd LED and the power itself.
