Screen Blacked Out...

Last night I'm playing some games on my laptop when it broke down.
the screen blacked out.
I've already tried resting it for 1 whole day.
but it's still having the same problems.

is the lights inside it the problem?
what should I do?
do I need to go to the repair shop?

thanks in advance.

Before taking it for repair connect it to a working external monitor to verify the video card is working. It probably will. You most likely experienced an inverter failure. The inverter supplies the high voltage and frequency required to run the backlights. In some cases it is the backlight that fails. If you are comfortable taking apart the LCD putting a new inverter is easy, it just plugs in. Be sure and verify that the cable that goes through the hinge is intact If it is damaged it is inexpensive but requires taking apart the top and bottom to replace.

Some games require graphics card to be able to perform on enhanced level, if the screen blacks out during playing the game then it could be a driver corruption or registry issues..

I have a dell inspiron 1501 laptop. My computer was working fine last night but i fell asleep and left it on over night. Wwhen i tried to reboot my screen stayed on until it got the welcome screen after...

blacked-out screen doesn't necessarily indicate a broken monitor.
If the computer has run out of charge or is in hibernation or sleep mode,
if the screen is too dark, or if the display cable has come disconnected from the motherboard, the screen may appear black or fail to turn on. To fix a blacked-out laptop screen, troubleshoot the screen settings, check the LCD connector and see if the computer is awake and receiving power.
Touch the touchpad or move the external mouse to see if the computer is asleep or hibernating. If the computer fails to respond, press "Enter" on the keyboard. Press the power button if the screen remains black.

Confirm that the power indicator light, found at the front of the computer or above the keyboard, is glowing solid green or blue. Confirm that the power adapter is plugged into the computer and into a wall outlet. Confirm that battery indicator light is glowing solid green or blue. Hold down the "Fn" key. Press the up-arrow to see if the screen brightness increases.
Some computers also use the "F6" or "F7" keys to increase screen brightness.
Hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off the laptop.
Remove the AC adapter from the computer, close the screen, and then turn the PC over.
Slide the battery latch to eject the battery. Pull the battery out of its compartment. Turn the computer back over, open the lid, and insert the edge of a flathead screwdriver or other flat, solid object beneath the bezel above the keyboard. Wedge the edge of the keyboard bezel off of the top cover.
Work your way along the edge of the keyboard bezel to loosen it.
Pull the bezel off the laptop.
Trace the cable coming from the laptop screen to the connector found beneath the bezel. Reconnect the display cable to the motherboard if the cable has come loose from the connector. Line up the tabs on the bezel with the slots along the top of the keyboard. Insert the right edge of the bezel into the gap above the keyboard, and then push the bezel back in place. Turn the computer back on. If the laptop screen is still blacked out, connect an external monitor to the video port on the side of the PC to confirm that the video card isn't defective. If the external monitor works, the LCD screen could be broken. If the monitor doesn't work, the motherboard or video card might need to be replaced.

Lenovo 3000 N200 laptop not starting up, power light on

Keep pressed the power button of your laptop for about 30 seconds, the machine will power down.
--The above step may not be required as already so many days passed by.
Then plug it into the power adapter.
Switch the laptop on.
Boot in "safe mode" (F8 during boot).
This will fix any driver or some operating system issue during previous failed boot process.
Once it boots completely, do a normal shutdown and reboot your laptop in standard mode (no more F8 this time).
Now your laptop will be ready to use.

Screen Blacked Out

Try booting and entering the Bios settings, generally you hit delete while the system powers up, if the screen works fine here it is probably a windows resolution issue. You can press F8 before the system tries to load windows and enter safe mode. Reconfigure your resolution here and try it again.
