Question about Samsung SYNC SGH-A707 Cellular Phone

1 Answer

REMOVE HOUSING I need to replace the front housing plate on my SYNC A707. I cannot seem to find the directions to do this. I found the screws and took them out, but the faceplate would not budge. I do not want to break the phone. Any suggestions?

Yes, if you have a thin plastic card (credit card works) you can slid between the center where the 2 halfs meet - use a bit of force and then you will unleash the inner locks. It will pop open easy after that

My Nokia 3120 Ringer Problem Ringer not working

If you can't the ringer of your phone, check the settings on your profile if its activated and volume is up,otherwise,it seems your buzzer/speaker is the problem, sometimes when the phone gets drop on the ground, buzzer contacts may be dislocated or probably need a buzzer replacement.

To work with this problem and can DIY,

* you need a T6 precision screw driver or any tool that can release the screw.

1. Remove the battery cover
2. Remove the battery pack.
3. On the front panel/housing,release the 2 clips on the bottom using even your thumbnail and lift up the front housing.
4. release the 6 screw using the said tool.
5. lift up the entire module which is the LCD with frame and together with the mainboard.
6. On the back housing, you will see a 2 gold plated pins on the upper potion, that is seems to be the connector were the buzzer is connected and hide underneath.
7. clean it first, check if there's a corrosion and align it as well.
8. located the interface were the 2 metal pins is align connected unto the board.clean it as well.
9. Now assemble the phone and try if it is working then.

If not working, need a parts replacement and this could be possible if you bring to the a mobile service shop near you for replacing the said part.

Hoping this method helps you in a way. Thank you for visiting FixYa.

How to replace the lcd of n73

first remove the back housing then the front housing after removing the front and the back housing ,remove the battery, sim card and the memory card after that remove the screw using a tool that is compatible to your screw then after you removing the screw. Now push your plastic shim into the join at the top of the phone to lift the front cover out slightly. Then run the plastic shim along both sides of the cover to unclip it at these points too... Now have the front cover removed, like below...The LCD screen is held in place by a metal frame which needs to be unclipped around its edge for removal. The LCD screen will now be loose and can be removed. It will be attached to the phone by a ribbon which attaches like a plug and socket. Simply lift it upwards to unplug it.You can now lift away the LCD and replace with new. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly..thats all thank you

How to replace front glass on pantech matrix

You can purchase a full housing on ebay for about $20 which will include the lens. Just search "c740 housing". Then its just a matter of removing the screws. This model has multiple levels since it moved in 2 directions so make sure you remember where the screws go. Also be careful not to tear the 2 flex cables in the phone

Replace flip on my nextel i850 phone.

1. Remove battery cover and battery
2. Remove the four T-6 screws from back of the phone (you will have to raise the antenna to access one of them)
3. Seperate the housings.
4. Disconnect the flex connector/data cable that connects the back housing to the motherboard.
5. Disconnect the cable attaching the flip to the motherboard (at top of board)
6. Remove keypad from old part and put it in the new part.
7. Insert motherboard into new flip/front housing and connect cable to board.
8. Reconnect cable from back housing to motherboard
9. Replace and tighten 4 screws and you are good to go.. very easy repair.

Sorry for the delay in response...

Once you have the screws loose, they sometimes stay in the housing. That is okay as long as they are loose from the mounts. The top half only has the two screws. Once they are removed, work the seem with an opening tool, or strong fingernails. Gently pry open the seem and it will start to pop apart. Be careful in the top half because the flex for the surface buttons is attached to the outer housing or front cover. Once you have it snapped loose, you have to unplug that flex, so be careful not to tear it.

Once you have the phone apart, brush all components (not the screen) with 91% rubbing alcohol and a soft bristle brush.

If you want, you can also try leaving the phone in a bag of dry rice. That tends to wick out moisture quite well.

The only risk there is that once moisture is in a phone, it tends to start corroding. It can work fine for quite some time, and then have problems later so I recommend disassemble and clean if at all possible.

Samsung SYNC-A707 AT&T Cellular

Either the battery cover or the back housing is damaged. To fix it and fix it right, you need to replace the damaged part.

Look online, or check out, or

Other than that, the only other option would be to tape it on.

Found this on Howard Forums. Sorry no photos.

Take off your battery, unscrew the screws on the back of the phone with a T6 screw driver.

Pry off the back plate, lift up circuit board gently(be mindful of flex cable) remove the flex cable from mail board by lifting brown part by the connector,

Unscrew then next 2 set of screws(be careful of flex cable!) remove the LCD board from the faceplate.

Now put the LCD Panel into the new faceplate. Find the new back slide and put your sliding rails on.(you may also put the slide magnets on from the old housing) carefully thread your flex cable through the opening.

Snap the Back slider on and then screw in the screws, then take the keypad housing and screw it into the slide rails.

Reconnect the flex cable by putting the brown hatch up(gently with finger nail) gently feeding the cable into the connector until the white line is about to the end of the connector.

Then put the brown thing down and apply little pressure.

Put the mail circuit board back into the phone with the headset jack going in first.

Then snap it back into place.

Transfer your speaker over the the new back housing with the prongs facing up.

Then screw on the back housing.

Replace battery and your DONE!!!

Best of Luck.

Front Display LCD is Cracked. Where can I get the part?

The front LCD on my Sync broke within 2 weeks while it was in my pocket (no dropping needed). I also agree that there is a design flaw with the front screen. Unfortunately, ATT won't take returns on damaged phones which I tried numerous times arguing the phone was defective and it wasn't user negligence. To make me more furious, one manager tried to sell me a case for my now broken phone. I recommend finding a non-functional phone on eBay. I got one for 20 bucks + a backup battery and a car charger.
