Hello, depending on the kind of Laptop, you can open the panel, and look inside, if you can change the converter video signal, that could fix your problem.
or Inverter.
have the laptop model, and serial, for that.

I have a laptop that I sign in with a password and then get a blue screen.

There are a few things which could cause the problem that you describe. However, as your laptop is less than a month old go back to the vendor/shop where you bought it and get them to sort it out. Take your receipt with you.

You have an automatic 12 month warranty with a new item. Don't try and do anything yourself as this may invalidate the warranty.

The onus is on the vendor. They either have to give you a new unit, refund your money or repair/refurbish it.

This may sound like a cop-out but you'll find that vendors are very helpful indeed. Laptops aren't easy to repair by yourself .. so .. let the vendor sort it out. Consumer law is on your side.

A few years back I bought a brand new laptop in a computer superstore. When I got it home it didn't work. The next day I went back to the superstore and there in the queue at the customer service desk was a woman who had bought an identical model the previous day .. and it didn't work. All sorted out within minutes.

My daughter has a new ASUS Eee PC 1005HAB, and after a couple months use it will no longer power on.

Try this >>>>

Remove AC power and take out the battery.
Plug the AC power back in and see if it will switch on. If it does shut it back down again and re-insert the battery. Try turning the computer on.

If you get no life from the computer either with or without the battery then this computer has to be sent back to Asus for repair or replacement as there will be still warranty on the computer.

We have a 2 year warrenty on a hp besk top.dated 02/04/09 . We need it repaired. Need to know if u can send a tech or if we need to send it in for service.

first you need to find out who your secondary warranty partner is . where did you buy you unit from. if your have a new national electric warranty you can contact them and set up for either of the two . send it in or have on site repair at no cost to you. call the store and ask who handles the warranty and start calling.

I have a 14 month old HP TX1215NR notebook pc, that will not boot. The power lights come on but there is no hard drive activity. HP say sorry out of warranty. Is there any fix?

Ok heres the next step in trying to troubleshoot your problem.

If you have a desktop PC, We need to BORROW its monitor. There is a VGA port on the back of your Laptop. Plug the Monitor into that and boot up your Laptop. If the "borrowed" monitor shows no signs of activity then try pressing <Fn> and <F5> and seeing if that allows you to view anything on the monitor.

Let me know what you find out and we will take further troubleshooting techniques

I have a Samsung NP Q1u. the screen is broken and needs replacement. where can i get one from, to replace myself, or is there someone in Australia i can send it to?

is it still under warrenty? i'd send it to the manufacturer if under warrenty. i'd would suggest to ask around your area, at repair shops and electronic/computer stores. i'm sure somewhere you can find that

Computer will not power up, power button comes on but nothing happens

I had this problem with my HP Pavilion DV series laptop. It had to go back and be replaced. It was only 3 months old too. If yours is still under warranty, lodge a "laptop dead" ticket, they'll send UPS to your door and pay all the shipping costs.

If there's any important data on it, you should expect to pay around $70 to a computer shop like Best Buy or Future Shop to have that data recovered. Do that before you send it off, because if they do elect to replace it, the hard drive won't be the same.
