Question about Uniden Cordless Phone

1 Answer

What's the button on the base to register a handset?

I'm following the instructions to register a Philips CD440 handset to a CD445 base. After entering the PIN on the handset, the last step is to press a button on the base for 3 seconds. However, the icon of the button (in the instruction booklet) does not appear on my phone. What's the button on the base I have to press?

Thank you for your help!

Oh, *that* button! I was looking on the set, not on the base of the phone.

    Thanks!

Hello Stephwen

On a CD440 base you should see at least a single button wich serves to call the cell phone, for the case when we don't remember where left the device, that's the button that you have to press during 3 seconds. On a CD445 base, you can see more buttons has the images showed on Philips pages... the button as a nice sign on it: it as a point with some curve barsto the rigth side as meaning "echo" or "sound"...

My V-TECH CS6229-3 phone base does not register the base phone but i can change another phone on this three phone set and it is registered and the phone

Is the handset you are trying to register de-registered? if not it will not register to another base until it is.first de-registered.
To de-register the handset do the following-
With a charged battery in the handset Enter *331734# then without pause Press and Release the Menu Select Button. You will hear a Beep. Handset would then be De-registered..
Then place the handset on the Main Base cradle and follow the instruction that come up on the handset display.if the handset still does not register then most likely the base memory is full and will have to be re-set .
To re-reset the Base:- Remove any handset from the main base cradle. Then Press and Hold the Locator or find HS or handset Locator button until the IN USE light comes on and begin to flash then release it and immediately with out pause press and release it again. That will re-set the base memory. All your handset will then be de-registered and will to be re-registered. Place each handset to be re-registered on the Main Base cradle and follow the instructions on the the handset display and they will register.

Can not register handset

The handset must be de-registered before it can be registered.
Try this:

1. To de-register the handset from another base:
When the orphaned handset says "Connecting..." or
"Out of Range..."
enter *331734 [menu]
and it will soon beep and display "Not registered"

2. To register the new handset to your base:
press the "Handset Locator" button on the base and hold
it until the "in use" light comes on ( ~ 4 seconds ),
then release the button and set the new handset into
the base phone cradle. After ~ 30 seconds it will beep
and display "Handset #" (next in sequence).

3: Note: the base handles a maximum of 12 handsets.

If your system was fully populated ( ie, a handset is
already # 12 ) you will have to clear all the handsets
from the base and re-register them all in sequence.
( it is the only way to 'rescue' the places occupied
by the lost handsets ).

To clear the base of all registrations:

1. Press and hold the the "Handset Locator" button
until the "in use" light lights and then starts to blink
( ~ 10 seconds ), release the button --
then press it again briefly while the "in use" light
is still blinking.

2. The base will beep and all handsets that were registered
will display "Not Registered"

3. Follow the instructions above for each handset
in turn to re-register them:
press "Handset Locator" ~ 4sec ( in-use light on ),
set handset into the base cradle, etc.

The manual is available from: www.manualslib.com
but does not fully describe these procedures.

Good luck !

Can I use Philips CD240 CD245 handset on a philips dc445 base

Simple answer yes they are compatable I just did it as I could not find any CD445 handsets. The manuals are downloadable from Phillips just search for CD445 or CD245 manual.Just press speaker button on 445 base for 5 seconds untill it beeps twice, then on new 245 handset menu/ register enter default code 0000 and bingo its live. Oddly the newer handset bases are 9v and not compatable with 445 bases which are 6v and have different contacts so you cant sit your 245 in the old base.My new 245 came with a new base anyway so no problem.

Press the menu button then scroll using the up/down button in the center of the handset to find ADVANCED SET in the screen. Press the menu button and the up/down button to select REGISTRATION in the screen. Press the menu button and the up/down button to choose the base station(the registered base station will be marked with an asterisk at the right in the screen). Press the menu button and dial the 4 digit master PIN when prompted(default master PIN is 0000). Press the page button(lower right) on the base unit for at least three seconds until there is a confirmation tone. Press the menu button to validate the PIN code. In the screen WAITING will be displayed. A confirmation tone is heard when the registration is successful. I have included a link to download the manual.

We have a Philips CD445 three handset phone. Unfortunately one of the kids have managed to UNREGISTER one handset. I have tried several times to reregister it but it does not see the base. Any ideas?

Make sure no phone is on the base. Bring unregistered phone to the base. Find the handset locater button. Press menu > advanced set > registration > base 1. When it requests a pin enter your pin 0000 BUT DO NOT HIT MENU YET. Hold the handset locator button ON THE BASE for 5 sec. then press MENU on the phone. It should register.

Phillips phone cd445

On the hand set:
- menu button - ADVANCED SET - REGISTRATION - base 1
- pin # is 0000 (default)

On the base station and the base station handset - press and hold for at least (3) seconds, at the same time:
- on base - the intercom button
- on base handset - menu button

It's in the manual but you need a magnifying glass to read it.

Phone rings, but once answered its not possible to hear a voice.

Similar issue - brand new phone - but incoming calls (skype or landline) would ring - and then nothing, and outgoing calls the handset would just reset.

The handset would just lose signal constantly (less than 2 meters from the base station).

The phone shipped with the latest software - but eventually I reinstalled it - no change, then de-registered the handset, powered everything down and re-registered the handset and that *seems* to have done it .....

So
1 - reflash / re-install latest software from philips website (even if the phone already has the same version)
2 - de-register handset (follow instructions)
3 - unplug base station and remove batteries from handset
4 - turn on base station, put batteries in handset
5 - re register handset (follow instructions in manual)

and that seems to do it.
