Question about Cameras
Fujifilm f11 camera won't switch on, battery has been charged and is in the right way. Have just returned from sub zero temperatures, woul that have any effect.
All the camera battery systems are tricky in some degree. Try to check:
1. Batteries in a voltmeter after charged. Some batteries drop dead without warning regardless the time they spend in the charger. Once dead, they have to be replaced
2. Cleanness of electric contacts.
3. Proper pressure of electric contacts, mainly when springs are present.
I owned a Olympus C2000Z with same problem.

Did it operate in sub-zero conditions? Was it warmed back up when you tried it last? Do you have another battery to try?
If the battery is really OK then I wonder if the extreme cold could have caused something to move, dosconnect or break because of the cold and movement caused by contraction, due to cold.
If it is really dead it is not worth fooling with other than it might be woth a try to bang it around a little and see if it re-connects the broken connection. Can't hurt!

If "Err" is displayed on the LCD panel on the top
of the camera when the "MENU/EXE" button on the FinePix S1 Pro is
pressed, check the following:
<If "Err" is not flashing>
1. If the slot cover is open, switch the camera off, close
the slot cover and switch the camera back on.
2. If the remaining charge in the AA-size batteries is low,
switch the camera off, replace the batteries and switch the camera back on.
3. If steps 1 and 2 above do not remedy the problem, contact
the store where you purchased the camera or your nearest authorized FUJIFILM
<If "Err" is flashing>
1. Pictures cannot be taken because the remaining charge in
the lithium batteries is too low or because the camera mechanism has stopped
operating due to the camera being used in cold conditions.
In this event, switch the camera off, replace the batteries
and then switch the camera back on. If replacing the batteries does not resolve
the problem, set the focusing mode to "M" and release the shutter
before switching the camera off briefly.
2. If step 1 above does not resolve the problem, contact the
store where you purchased the camera or your nearest authorized FUJIFILM
