Scanning from HP OfficeJet 7410 All-In-One to a Mac

I am trying to scan some drawings to my Mac and I keep getting the error message " Sorry, unable to allocate memory or system resource to complete operation".  I get this on both of the Mac's in the house so I assume it relates to the scanner and not the computers. Am desperate to get this work sent so any help gratefully received.

    I heard you can solve it by closing itunes and rebooting. But it still doesn't work.

    exact same problem, nothing helps, itunes or anyother programmes arent on...rebooting doesnt work, please help :(

    My problem is on an HP scanjet G3010, and I'm using a mac:

    I'v been having the same problem but I think I just fixed it, *hopes I didn't just jinx myself* I switched off the scanner, un-plugged it, re-plugged it, switched it back on and tried scanning then saving.
    Boom! It finally saved!! I had tried closing itunes and every other program, but so far this seemed to work suddenly... >.<;

    When I'm using HP Scan Pro on my MacBook Pro/HP Photosmart C5580 All-in-One, I get this message after I hit "accept":
    "Sorry, unable to allocate memory or system resource to complete operation." Meanwhile, nothing else is open except Finder. And I have 4GB RAM, so memory is not the issue. And I'm not scanning anything unusual. It seemed to happen after I dragged some itunes files from an old hard drive, but that's the only event I can point to here. ..

    I have tried re-installing the HP drivers, and re-booting several times, but no luck so far. help!

Had same problem. Make sure you've closed any other apps. Itunes caused mine to fall over.

My Solution*** I did all the above, turned off the scanner, unplugged, rebooted, etc. Nothing worked. I decided to try the way I originally started scanning while still using the HP Software. I had the scanner program closed and accessed it through the "HP Device Manager". From there I just chose to scan picture and it went through its normal routine. It opened up HP Scanjet program and scanned the preview. All this worked before. This is where it would hang up... I would select scan to: "Image File", but this time I decided to go back to the basics and scan to: "HP Photosmart" (a program I never use and for good reason). But doing this once and allowing it to save a scan and opening it up in there seemed to work. I now scan back the normal way, to image file. My guess is the HP program has bugs and it needed to somehow reset itself. Hope this helped - My first post ever! Good Luck

The process of saving scanned images directly through the scanner seems to be the cause of the problem. A good way around this is to import the scanner in another application such as Photoshop and then save that scanned image.

First i would reboot the mac and unplug the office jet
if that doesnt help look here

If it is a USB device then unplug it from the PC boot up the pc and then plug it in, Windows should try to install it ffor you ,make sure you have the CD with the drivers available

Either that or go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the software

Re-install and refit the printer following the CD's instructions

Changing scan settings in HP Device Manager in Mac OS X
1.Launch HP Device Manager.
2.Click Information and Settings , and then select Scan Preferences from the drop-down list.
3.Make a selection from the available list and then click OK .
4.Click Scan Picture or Scan Document to scan with the changed settings.

I uninstalled/put into trash everything on my system related to the original application. Emptied the trash. Downloaded newest drivers, etc. from HP site and installed on my Mac. Yahoo!!! Scanner works fine!

Can't scan with HP Officejet 6110 from document holder

well u can try:

1/uninstall and install printer/scanner drivers and software.

2/ replace the usb cable.

3/make sure that there is no damage va been maen on th AIO cuz u need a warrantly in this case.
