I was riding my 1992 fletcher and it just died. Oil and gas are full. I'm getting no spark. Changed coil. Bike turns over but still no spark. Thinking maybe the module is bad?

Hi, Jason and the usual suspects are:
1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Severely discharged or a damaged battery, should have 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Loose connection at ignition coil or plug between ignition sensor and module.
5. Spark plug cables in bad condition, shorting, leaking, spark plug cable connections loose check for spark leakage in the dark.
6. Faulty ignition coil or electronic control module.
7. Faulty CKP, CMP, or BAS sensor.
8. Faulty ignition switch.
9. Tilt sensor needs a reset.
10. Security alarm failing to disarm needs reset

I have an 87 Ford f350 460 big block 4x4 is been sitting 4 years and now put new fuel pump in it and a battery and it won't start I don't know if that has ignition but it will turn over has gas

won't start Addam, verify weather it has spark, if has spark try a little starter fluid in carberator. If runs then quits after starter fluid, the carberator or pump is still the problem. I will post some touble shooting links that may help you.

This is a 23 Ford T Bucket with a chevy 350 in it-i bought a new rotor, new coil, new spark plugs, new distributor cap, ignition control module, new spark plug wires,i tried to start it and it acts like i

If your gettin spark and its timed up right, next, check and make sure your getting fuel/air, and if that's alright check for compression. Three basic troubleshooting techniques. You need spark, fuel, and compression. All of this needs to work in unison as well.

Troubleshooting no spark

Most times it is the ignition module does not have a good ground where it mounts. If the ignition has good ground, disconnect the kill wire and see if you get spark. If yes, replace the kill switch.

There is actually a legend on the ignition control module that you see flashing. This is a very basic troubleshooting code, usually it blinks 3 times, meaning ignition lockout (heater tried to fire unsuccessfully 3 times)

Code 11 all the time have had it cleaned still getting code it is on propane had propane tank checked pressure ok

Before calling service technician, open following links for troubleshooting resources including Rheem phone, chat, error codes, general maintenance pdf, and generic service manual:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Troubleshoot-Rheem-Tankless-water-heater.html
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/Tankless-maintenance.pdf
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/Tankless-service-manual.pdf

Error codes are considered start point for troubleshooting.
Error 11 is 'no ignition' or 'no gas'
You have checked gas and pressure, and had parts cleaned.
Other causes can include: igniter wiring, bad igniter, loose wire on gas solenoid, bad solenoid, improper grounding.

Igniters will not stop clicking.

Hi

Thanks for using FIxYa.The igniter doesn't stop clicking due to a short inside the igniter circuit or due to moisture present on the ignition switch.Turn off the gas supply immediately and also unplug it from the mains power. Now take a blower or your hair dryer and blow hot air over the igniter. Also check for the following troubleshooting steps---

1) The gap between the igniter and the burner base is too large. *Should be approximately the thickness of two dimes.

2) Soiled igniter or burner base.

The above can be tested by switching the suspected burner with a known operating burner.

3) Loose wiring connections at the igniter, the grounding strap, or spark module.

4) Broken or pinched igniter wire between the burner and module.

Both of the above are physical inspections under the main top.

5) The module may have a week coil, which is not providing sufficient voltage to ignite the gas.

Even after performing these steps the igniter doesn't stop clicking then you need to replace the spark module.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee
