Why cant i get my 4x 2gb ddr2 800 to work on my asus p5qc mobo? it will run fine with just 4gb 2x ddr2 800 but when i add the other 2x ram i get black screen at boot

Be sure to check which slots you are putting them in, stay within the same colors as to which needs to be put in.

This may be why, looks like your using DDR2
DDR2 1066MHz DIMMs work only on the black slots for one DIMM per channel. Ensure to install the DDR2 1066MHz DIMMs ONLY on the BLACK slots!

This may be the case for all speeds of DDR2

Hi, the thing to do here is to narrow down what could be causing the problem, initial suspects would be the RAM chips. If you have known working ones you can try in it, try these, if not, try without one, then swap them over, or even try without both.

Also, remove any components that aren't strictly necessary, i.e. hard drives & cables, cd-rom/dvd drives, extra PCI cards, network cards etc

Another suspect may be just a loose connection, try taking everything out, re-seating it. Again, pay particular attention to the RAM chips.

It could possibly even be a faulty processor, have you another you could try? Try taking it out and re-seating it.

My mother board is D915GEV when I connect inno3d Geforce 9400GL 1 GB video card to PCI-E slot and start my computer then computer does not boot neither it turn on the monitor. But in the same system if I...

It is possible that the 9400GL is not compatible with your motherboard. Might be possible that the max video memory is 512MB.
Maybe a BIOS update can solve this.

Which gpu is better?

The video card is a joke, strictly for office use. Get a GTS 250 , it's an very upgraded form of 9600GT. 8800GT is far too old and weak for newer games.

How do you install 4 sticks of ram? I have 2x 512mb and 2x 1gb. Do I put the pairs in the same color slots?

Yes, there are 4 slots, two colors....put the same ram configuration in the same color. RE: 1 GB sticks go in one color, 512 MB sticks go in the other.

I would like advice on upgrading my Graphics card

Unfortunatly your still running low end CPU power and low end agp graphics. Your going to pay 150-200 just for a fair PCIe/AGP HD/3D VC. If $200 doesnt hurt (and this is the lowest price best option), then might I suggest Mobo/CPU/RAM for around $200 that would do the trick and allow for future upgrades. You might also need a power supply. I just built one less than 3 weeks ago for a friend and it fairs against my own gaming comp.

Parts upgrade

The 333/400 is the speed of the RAM in MHz 333 and 400 MHz. That corresponds with PC2700 and PC3200 that is in your specification.
250 GB hdd will work. Make sure that it is IDE and make sure that you connect the jumpers for master/slave the correct way.
As for the graphic card. If you have this one 'VGA SPARKLE 7300GT 512MB DDR2 128BIT PCI-X' than it will not work because it is a PCI-X card not an AGP card. You will need an older card for this motherboard.

best regards
