  • Anonymous May 18, 2008

we've brought a new game and for some reson it doesn't read and the other games no read read aswell, what the problem?

  • robbeau Jul 03, 2008

The wii was working perfectly. Then it quit. It wouldn't boot up. I turned off the surge protector and the tv and when I turned them both on again. The wii booted up, but now I get an error message "unable to read disc." This happened once before when I switched game discs. I put the other game disc in that I was playing with and then it worked again.

Bought one and got the unable to read disc error. Had to have one for my son for Christmas because his other gifts are wii games. Bought another with intentions of returning the other one and the new one gives the same error. Seems Nintendo has produced a huge amt of junk!!

If Wii gives Disc Read Error, first step you need to check is to try another disc or clean the exisitng disc. This will confirm that problem is with either Wii or Disc. If the console itself is giving disc read error then it needs to be repaired. You may check out DIY Wii Fix Guide, that will show step by step Information to fix the problem yourself. It also gives Information on fixing many Wii Related Problems, so its a kind of Wii Problems Reference Fix Guide

Wii, Guitar Hero 5, will not read disk.

You could have a finger print or something on the disc. Try running some water on it and dry it off with a clean cloth.

We start our guitar hero for wii and it gets to certain point in the game and just freezes. Is it the game or the guitar?

It's either the game or the system that is making it freeze. Try cleaning the disk properly, don't wipe it in a spiral motion. Most people think that's the proper way but your suppose to wipe from the inside to the outer edges.

Not reading disk

Try calling Nintendo. You may have a defective Wii.

Just explain to them whats going wrong. They should give you a new one at no charge. I am unsure of that though.

Guitar Hero World Tour for Wii won't load

Solution: Wii Console needed to download a software upgrade from the web to run Guitar Hero World Tour. Internet connection in our home is via a Linksys ADSL wireless router. Entered Wii Setup menu (select Wii button on bottom left of screen). Changed Connection 1 from None to Wireless. Wii picked up the SSID broadcast from the router. Did a Test Connection which worked. Wii Console prompted me to 'download Wii System Upgrade from Web?'. Clicked OK. Download took approx 10 mins. On completion of download Guitar Hero World Tour loaded automatically. Note: I have read that the Wii uses wireless protocol 802.11b. Make sure your router has both 802.11g and 802.11b enabled or 802.11b only for the duration of the download. Best of luck.

Unable to connect drums and guitar for guitar hero world tour wii

i couldn't get the console to see the guitar, so after making sure the the remotes were synched with the console individually, i pressed the reset on the console and then started guitar hero software before putting the remote in the guitar, making sure the first light remained lit in the remote. (am only using the guitar). so far so good, seems to have worked.
