Question about Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) Console
In case you did not see the recommended video, take a screwdriver and remove the six screws on the bottom. Now gently lift the side opposite of the reset button (the side where the vertical stand fits) and run your fingernail or a screwdriver around the case. There are some tabs that still hold the two halves together after removing the screws so when this is done, those snap and release the halves. Now turn the unit right way up and lift the top half off. Pay attention to the reset cable that connects the reset button to the mainboard. Gently pop this from the grove it is attached to and you are done. To remove the bottom half from the mainboard, unscrew the screw that sits in front of the controller ports. Now lift the opposite side of the mainboard (the area with the AC jack) and it should come out, leaving the two plastic cases free.
Hope this helps and mind the reset cable!
