Try another video drivers...

If u can hear the music in the films (so they work) but can see only a black screen, than u should look for "overlay" settings in the used player or at u\re video card settings, and that will solve u're problem, although new drivers would be a smarter idea ....

If this is not the case, than u should find out what those errors mean ....(some software issues, some missing files ... )

As you may have already notice, there isn't a problem with your driver.
However to gain a better understand the problem you rule out a couple of things. However, if the this problem is only present in windows media player. Then you should try another play i.e. VLC media player.

1. Go to you device manager and make sure the device is working properly. If not try uninstalling the device, restarted the computer letting windows discover the device again.

2. Next go to windows media player file (press "alt" key to get toolbar in newer version. Select options -> devices select your speaker -> properties and be sure that your audio device is available and selected.

3. Finally if all these options has failed, please use an alternative media like the one mention above (VLC media player).

Is windows media player able to play dvds? how daes it work? my laptop media can not play dvds.. i m feeling tired of it..

You may need codecs in order to play most DVD videos and other formats like DivX. Use this codec pack here. Select the Media Player Classic as the application while you were asked to provide it. K-Lite After that both of your players are ready to play DVDs (its better to have Media Player 11 in your system for a better experience) Enjoy your movie!

Can not playr dvd using windows media player

Microsoft's Media player won't plat DVD's. The reason is because the VOB format used by dvd is from the entertainment industry, whereas DivX, AVI etc are from the computer industry. To play DVD's on your computer, you need dvd player software such as Cyberlink. Alternatively, you can download the codecs required from Microsoft, but these are third pary programs you have to buy.

The wmplayer plays but no video appears

There is a more recent version of Windows Media Player (11.0.6000.6344)
already installed on your computer. It is not possible to use an older
installation package (11.0.5721.5146)
to install the files or to repair your current version of the Player

Media player comes back with COOD10D1 error, have sound no picture on DVD

This is a codec error. I can send you a link to a full codec package to download and install.

Click on this link, select a download site and when its done, click run form the download folder. Take all the defaults while installing.

It also installs a program called Media Player Classic that is a player only. It will play anything.

But this package installs all codecs you should need if that fails to solve your problem let me know by using the comment box below and we'll try the Microsoft package but I hate to use it.
