Remove lower grill and disconnect the water line going through the freezer door hinge. Usually it is a push lock fitting, which requires you to push the ringi CANNOT GET WATER THROUGH THE DOOR, HAVE WATER TO - 2_bing.gif on the end of the fitting toward the center of the fitting while pulling (not hard) on the plastic tube. Now place a pan under the separated plastic hose and try the water dispenser. If water comes out, your problem is a frozen water line in the freezer door. A warmer freezer temp may help, or you can order and install a WR49X10173 water tube . (the heater may take 24 hours to thaw the line, but I have used it successfully several times. Cost about $50) If no water comes out the separated tube when you try to dispense water, reconnect the tube at the hinge by pushing the plastic line back into the fitting. Now, at the back of the refrig., disconnect the water line going from the water valve to the fresh foods compartment. Try to dispense water. No water at valve outlet = bad valve. Water dispensed from valve now = frozen water filter or water line at back bottom of fresh foods compartment. (make sure you disconnect the right tube. If in doubt, disconnect them both, just get them back correctly so your icemaker continues to work) Send me additional comments if needed. Don't rate before you try all the steps.

Water on door wont dispense

Your water line could be frozen inside the freezer door. Open your freezer door and remove the kick plate on the bottom of the unit. Follow the water line from the door under the unit and it will be clipped under the unit. Pull out the water line and disconnect either line from the coupler (push the water line in and hold the ring then pull out the line). After you do that close the door and try the water again, if you get water then you will need a low wattage heater for the door.

Out of no where the water dispenser doesn't dispense water. Cannot figure out why it would do that. The ice maker works fine. We have had our Whirlpool refrigerator model #GI7FVCXWQ0 for almost a year...

Your water line could be frozen in the door. You can disconnect the line under the unit before it goes into the door at the bottom hinge. Push the dispenser button and see if it comes out there. If it does leave the door open till it thaws. Covering the opening with a blanket will prevent the loss of cold in the freezer. . GE makes a heater that will prevent this from happening again. The part number for this heater is WR49X10173.

disconnect the line to the water dispenser at the water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in and try the dispenser. if you hear the valve work but water doesn't come out, the valve is bad. If you don't hear the valve, the dispenser switch is bad

Water dispenser stopped dispensing water but ice maker is still working fine

I had the same problem. Ice maker works fine. Removed the kick plate at the bottom of the fridge to expose the water line. I disconnected it and then pressed the dispense button. Water pumped out of the line so i know water was getting all the way to the freezer door. I went overkill but it worked. I removed the freezer door and placed it outside. (disconnected the power to the door by disconnecting the plug at the top. and then removed two screws/bolts at the top and the door lifts up and off) I set the door on a patio table with the bottom facing up. I picked up some 16 gauge wire ($6 at Home Depot) and ran it up the water tube from the bottom of the door. The bottom is more of a straight shot up the water line. I also took a turkey syringe used to inject juice into a turkey and i shot very hot water up the line with the door upside down. This allowed water to run up the line and unfreeze it if it was frozen. I let it sit outside for 30 minutes and put the door back on and now it works like a champ. The line was either frozen or it was obstructed. The water line is surprisingly small. Took less than an hour and I now have water again. Not tough at all...

While water is being dispensed through the cool water outlet, water leaks thru the flexable line at the bottom of the freezer compartment door. Whats the problem, and how can it be fixed?

Due to water comming from the bottom of the dooe , you will need to replace the door water line . Pt # WR17X10206 is the replacement line . Remove the upper portion and " feed " the new line down thru the freezer door .

Water leaking

there should be a quick disconnect about 4 inches from the bottom of the door. look behind the toe kick. if it leaks from the disconnect try pushing the plastic lines into the disconnect. the disconnect is about 1.5 inches long and should have red or blue ends. to get the lines out you push the colored ends in while pulling the plastic line out, try cutting off the ends smooth and straight up and down and re-insert. if the water is coming out of the bottom of the door you need to replace the water line in the door.

to get the line out of the door. use a flat blade screwdriver to pry the dispenser cover off the door. there are two slots on the bottom of the dispenser facia. use a pen or something hard for a pivot point and use tape to protect door finish. push on the screwdriver until you think the plastic will break, then push a bit harder and it will pop off. now you can disconnect the facia and remove the screws holding the switches etc. disconnect the water line and pull it through the dispenser. to put the facia back on just hook the top and line it up and press the bottom back on.

Water leaking from inside door

the water line for the water disp runs in a chase that goes up thru the bottom hinge of the refrig door. SO DONT PULL YOUR DOOR APART! you can order a new water line thru frigidaire and replace the part by removing the water dispenser housing on the door and pulling the line thru the door then inst the new line in reverse. if it looks like too big a job then get a reputable company to inst it for you.

Replacing cam and shim

on the right side door just take off the top hinge (three screws or bolts on the top of refrigerator) and lift the door off of the bottom hinge.
left door is the same but you have to disconnect the water line and electric line that goes to the door. the water line has a coupling behind the kick-plate on the bottom of the refrigerator. the water line then slides up thru the hinge( BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS SHORT LINE COMING OUT OF THE DOOR, IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO REPLACE)
