Display problem my laptop ( compaq preserio v2036AP) display goes off suddenly... screen gets blank...even pressing keys on laptop doesnt solve the problem .. i have to restart the system.. and this happens anytimes sometimes with in few minutes or some times after few hours.. somes once in few days... also i have noticed that my cpu fan never works ( right from the day i have purchased) could this be a problem ..... kindly suggest.....

Yes big time need cpu fan to work and new greese big time turn it on hi on bios if u can also buy acooling pad on ebay labtop cooler pad keep it cool these so hot killed power chips in it now bad mobo least get that cooler on ebay ok

plugs in usb 15 bucks 3 fan one black 2500 rpm fast hi end blows get that heat out

I have 2 laptops one is a F700 Preserio (Compaq) and one is a CQ60-615DX Notebook (Compaq) can I purchase a recovery disc for the CQ60-615DX Notebook and use it to reboot my F700 Preserio laptop.

No.
Since the product key of the computer is updated in the motherboard, even if you try a different disc, it will ask for the product key.
If u are using the correct disc, it won't ask for any prouct key.
Also the drivers won't be compatible.

NOTE: There are options to use the same disc to install in both the computers but the process is really hard. If u are ready for that, i can give an outline how to do that.

Hi i have a hp nc6320 when i power it up it flashes like greyish in middle of screen like it wants to display , while its running if i quickly press fn & external f4 screen key it shows xp loading then...

it will be ok if you reinstall your os

Try this:

Press CTRL+ALT keys together and keeping them pressed, press the RIght Arrow Key. Perform these steps until you get the display right.

By "where I want to go", do you mean going on the internet? If all you are getting is a blank screen, then you have the "about:blank" virus. Go here, print out the instructions, and read them well. Then read them again and follow them closely. At one time I had it on a desktop system and the instructions worked just fine.
