I have an older Mitsubish tv. It worked fine until last weekend then while watching the screen got light gray/white in color with horizontal lines about 1 inch apart on it. You can still see the picture behind the gray/white color and the sound works fine. What is the problem?

What model mitsubishi do you have. It has to be video related not deflection or you wouldnt have the menu screen. Do you have snow, retrace lines or black screen? Let me know your model.

If you try to change the chanel on the remote and you don't get snow, then your set is in home theater mode and stuck on EXT-1 input.
You will have to get into the menu under advanced settings and turn off Home Theater.

Hope this helps.

Sanyo model # ds19310 16 jnch tv stuck on video chanel wont change to any other chanel volume works pat of menue works but the channel search and two other chanel menue controls are not available tv skips...

Hi there,

If you still have the Sanyo remote, you just need to press the INPUT button on the remote. The channel search and some other functions are disabled when the TV is in video/AV/game mode.

If you don't have the Sanyo remote, but you have a Universal remote which you use with the TV, look for a button labelled INPUT or SOURCE on this remote and try pressing it.

If you don't have any remote for this TV or you are using a universal remote which does not have an INPUT or SOURCE button, please reply to me from within this page for further assistance and let me know the brand and model number of any universal remote you are using. There is no option in the menu for doing this, but there a couple of methods which work on some TVs

Hope this helps.

Audio and Video Front Inputs are available

for a quick connection of a VCR, to playback

video from a camera or attach a gaming

device. Use the AV button on the remote control

to tune these inputs.

1 Connect the video (yellow) cable

from the Video output on the Camera

(or accessory device) to the Video (yellow)

Input located on the FRONT of

the TV.

2 For Stereo Devices: Connect the audio

cable (red and white) from the Audio

Left and Right Outputs on the Camera

to a Stereo to Mono adapter. Then plug

the single end of the adapter to the

Audio In (white) jack on the FRONT

of the television.

For Mono Devices: Connect one end

of the audio cable from the Audio Out

jack on the device to the Audio In
(white) jack on the FRONT of the television

3 Turn the TV and the accessory device

4 Press the AV button on the remote

control to tune the TV to the side input

jacks. "Front" will appear on the TV

5 Press the PLAY button on the

accessory device to view playback, or

to access the accessory device (camera,
gaming unit, etc.).

Repeatedly pressing the AV button on the

remote control will toggle the picture source

from the current channel, or Front input

Note: The Audio/Video cables needed for

this connection are not supplied with your

TV. Please contact your dealer or Philips at

800-531-0039 for information about purchasing
the needed cables

Mitsubishi Diamond Series T.V.

When a tv (Rear proyection) shows this coloration is the meanning that the red color is not there (the red color is generated by a red CRT). Now it can be really bad not having the tube working but before conclution make sure of this: (and if the red color gets back then the tube is ok)
  • is this condition the same in all inputs? or the picture looks ok with a different video source (VCR, DVD other)
  • are the menu letters same as the picture looks or are they fine?
If we cannot see any red color back with this testing, still chances that a technician find an electronic problem that make the tube to be off. so don't rush conclusions and get to the end to save the tv with out replacing the red tube, but if all was done and nothing then the tv needs the tube replacing.

Let us try eliminating the video process by connecting an external video source such as a DVD player in any of the Audio/Video INputs. Doing so would confirm the tuner (and/or perhaps the logic) circuitry.

Most TV tuners would use a 33 volts reference voltage for the VCO to shift frequencies. The 33 is normally regulated by a dropping resistor and zener combo. Pls check this as they could be the issue. It may be to your advantage if you could post the brand and model of the PTV or at least the tuner block.

This is of course assuming that you are familiar with electronic circuitry and components, use of a DVM and safe practices involve when performing voltage checks on a live unit.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

When there?s any bright white light, the unit just loses the signal .

Good Day, littlejhon4u;
Try this and/or try using different input: White raster with no signal, washed out looking video with signal. Access the service menu, "menu 0157" use the audio button to select "video chroma" adjustments, use the video button to select item "68 - AG1", use the adjust button to change the setting to 0, then press the enter button to store the change. Good Luck, big IRISH. PS; Adjust this ONLY.
