How do I synch i-tunes on a new computer with my old i-pod classic?

Before you connect the iPod, you should install iTunes. The program is free and can be downloaded form the Apple support page. After installing, you better first setup your account. The same name you used to buy the music in the first place. Then connect the iPod to the computer and wait till iTunes starts and shows you the iPod.
Perhaps you have to authorise the PC with the account. You can have up to 5 authorised PC's with one account.

Here you find the software for your computer:

Cant transfer from computer to ipod

A. You need to have iTunes installed on your computer. It's a free download from Apple. Load your CD's into iTunes or buy songs from the Apple iTunes Music Store. Connect your iPod and synch.

B. More information needed. Do you have songs on your iPod already? If so check the cable and the USB on your computer, try to connect to a different computer

How do i get to the menu for the first time brand new on my ipod touch 8g. thers a picture saying plug the usb into the itunes?

What you will need to do is download itunes (if you don't have it already) from the apple website at once installed open it up and then plug in your ipod into the computer using your usb cable. It may be a case that you will need to charge the ipod before you can use it. Once it is charged you will be able to use itunes to synch your music and other stuff from your computer to your ipod.

The apple site also has ipod manuals on it that would probably be a good thing to download they are available at

Hope this helps.

Ipod wont turn on

If you just purchased it, you will need to install iTunes on your computer and connect the new Touch to the PC after iTunes installs. When you use your Touch for the first time, it needs to synch/register via iTunes first.
Also, to unlock it, just slide the slider on the bottom of the screen after synching with iTunes.

Copy music media to my apple ipod

Install iTunes on your computer. It is available from apple for a free download by clicking here.
Then follow the steps outlined in this tutorial to guide you in moving the music library from WMP to iTunes.
If you already have a music library in iTunes, simply plug your ipod in to your computer and synch the ipod with your library. It will do this automatically in most cases.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

Instructions for ipod classic

All you have to do is download and install iTunes, and when you put in a CD it will automatically ask you if you want to import the music on it to iTunes. Then just plug your iPod in, if it was brand new when you got it, you'll have to go through a quick and easy set up, if it wasn't then it should already be registered and ready to go!
Hope this helps!

Try it on another computer and if it happens its the ipod. Or try restalling itunes with the lates version (7.7.1)

Ipod synching

I remembered that I had to reset my ipod once before and since I had already uninstalled and reinstalled itunes I thought it must be the ipod. So, I pushed the enter and the play buttons at the same time for about 5 seconds to reset the ipod and when I connected it to itunes this time, it was working!!!
