Question about Microsoft Xbox® 360 Core System Console
I downloaded a movie with my points on the xbox and it says unplayable contact. Status code: 69-8007045d
I had the same problem playing video from a data disc, code 69-8007045d. I made the exact same video file play by (1) adding .avi file extension to the file name (i.e. "videofile" renamed: "videofile.avi") and (2) putting it in a folder with the exact same name (videofile.avi). Same video file, didn't have to transcode to .wmv which degrades vid quality. Simple solution, but it worked. This is also the key to displaying a picture file as the icon instead of the generic "filmstrip" pic that displays by default. Just name the picture file the same name as the video and folder (i.e. "video.avi"). This has even worked with divx and xvid encoded videos when I've tried. My guess as to why this happens is that MS doesn't want to be legally or financially responsible for their hardware being used to play protected content, which is also why the status code 69-8007045d doesn't appear anywhere on their official website. Good luck.

Sometimes during file transfers, data can become corrupted. First, you may want to see if other videos play. This error code is a generic code stating it could not play your movie.
Try these for quick, possible solutions:
Simply reboot your XBox 360. It may sound stupid, but some people have had to have their 360 re-initialize so it could load the codec.
Go to you XBox dashboard.
Press the Right Bumper several times until you reach the "System" tab.
Select "Memory", "Hard Drive", "Videos", and select the movie you are attempting to watch.
Delete the movie.
Redownload the movie (it will remember you paid for it, so no worries).
A few other 360 owners have had similar issues. There is a problem with properly downloading the codec to play the file, even though Microsoft is the one providing the file.
If the problem doesn't resolve on it's own, contact Microsoft and get a refund. Your purchase will be deleted, but at least you get your points back.

Its a joke, ive just downloaded 10000bc to watch, and it seemed to download at a fairly normal rate, i get maybe an hour into it and wham!! i get the error message, im angry with myself for trusting microsoft in the first place, they are selfish money grabbing scheming people.
Not so long ago i spent 1600 (or 1200) downloading the xbox original sid meirs pirates, i had to clear up space on HDD so deleted it knowing i can dl again when i need to or want to......only for MS to remove it from the marketplace and xbox originals tab, leaving me out of pocket. Im sick of them...I never ever thought id hear myself say it but im at the end of my tether with MS, i think i may be going way of the PS3. At least their online is free and their customer service far superior.

Can Microsoft screw up an experience as simple as watching a movie?
Well, apparently they are getting better at screwing things up and leaving the users clueless. I am having the same problem. I just payed for and downloaded Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix HD 6.22GB. After spending 40 minutes watching the movie with my wife I get the error message: Unplayable Content Status Code: 69-8007045D. I called Microsoft and they had me do a maintenance on the HD, then cancel the download, delete the file, then download again after a restart. Same issue.
Microsoft is on the phone blaming it to be a corrupt file, or that my console didn't support this file and at first refused to refund my money.
After asking for a supervisor he refunded my 480 points. What a waste of my time.
We still haven't seen the end of the movie.
I am very disappointed with Microsoft and their customer service. I will not be ordering any movies from Microsoft, and in fact they made my mind in purchasing AppleTV. I have already switched from a PC to a Mac Pro and MacBook Pro. Another one bites the dust, how many more before Microsoft starts to see their customers are not HAPPY. Boo Hoo Microsoft; if you can't keep up then give up. Jay C. Taylor, All comments welcome.
