Check the CPU fan's Heat sink whether it heats up such that you are unable to touch at the time of automatic shut down. If it is so then remove the fan and apply some Heat Sink Compound between the fan and processor, reattach the fan.

Computer shuts down on its own

Most likely when a computer shuts down on its own it is because the computer processor or power supply is either overheating or is under powered.
Feel with your hand around the computer case and back of the power supply (has circular fan usually/ on off switch/ and a plug goes into it)
If it is very hot you will have found your answer.
Did you just install or upgrade a processor? If so you may need to check to make sure that there is thermal compound (artic silver, etc) between the processor and heat sync. This can cause overheating and sudden shut downs. If not move on
Is your computer in a small enclosed area? Try moving it to an area with more area for ventallation and cooling.
Do you have adequate cooling/fans? are they working? if not check power cables and may need to replace the fans or install more. You can buy and install case fans pretty easily
DUST. Are the fans and imputs dirty? Keeping them clean will keep the computer running cooler and help lower temperature and avoid shut downs. If your fans/imputs are dirty remove dust by using a can of compressed air, a vacuum made specifically for pc/electronics. or you may wipe them down with rubbing alcohol and a dust free cloth.
This should help Anthony

Computer shut down during use, now only cooling fans come on

Hello,
The power supply is not able to supply enough power therefore it is gone bad. Replace with a new one. This is not a cmos battery problem.

All the best.

Fan races slows down races again

the fan is supposed to speed up when the processor gets too hot, then slow down after it has cooled a bit. if it is running more than normal, maybe you should take the cover off the pc and clean the dust out of the cpu heatsink.

Sounds like an overheating problem. May want to remove the processor and check the heat sink material. While you have it out you can clean the fan and the heat sink. Make sure your air flow isnt blocked in any way and neaten up the cables if necessary. You could also consider adding another fan.

Problem with pc

You probably need to check the cooling fan setup ( some motherboards give the control on the task manager or a sperate software to control it) This seems to be a problem of overheating which might have started after the installation of new ram.

This happens because your CPU is overheating, open your PC and blow any dust off the openings and CPU/Power supply fans, if you think one of the fans is not working... replace it.
