Problem for Acer Vuego 640U Flatbed Scanner

Scanner seems to be getting stuck

My scanner has suddenly seemed to get stuck. It makes noises like it is going to scan, then the carriage moves a tiny bit and it starts to make tap, tap, tap noises like something is stuck.

Any suggestions?

-   my scanner was working properly from two years..
suddenly it got stuck and makes noises
i have tried with shifting its lock switch also with
power cable..it gets lighted up but doesnt scan
pl suggest solution-   ankurT
