Cannot get computer to boot, loops foxconn logo refuses to boot. Tried reinstalling windows 7, crashes. tried from usb flash drive and dvd. The drive lets me install windows and works from another comp....

When this happens, it is either a driver issue, or the Hard Drive is bad. You need to try to bootup in safe mode, F8 at boot time. select, boot to safe mode desktop, IF it boots to this, i think, you may need to install the most up-to-date Video driver, in fact, you should, obtain and have at hand ALL drivers for your MB, and add on's/ This way you can install, in a s situation such as this. Store on a USB drive, and install them off this. Now if you cannot, access F8 or the PC, you need to get into the BIOS, set to boot from DVD, Boot from the Windows, install DVD, now perform a FULL FORMAT, and then try an install, if this doesn't work, either your install disc is corrupt, or the hard Drive is, i would suspect, first the Install DVD and then the HDD, you need to swap out a HDD to check. It may also be a piece of hardware attached too, again swapping out is the only way to track down a problem

MEMORY UPGRADE FROM DDR 256Mb to DDR2 1GB hangs when Log on/Booting

Its a memory problem obviously. Try dusting the memory slot and try inserting the memory into the slot a couple of times. If still not working, the memory may be incompatible(rarely, there are brands of boards that doesn't suit to certain brands of memory), or it may be damaged.

Install motherboard drivers for the first time

If you have a genuine copy of XP then it should boot from that and install it. If it's not booting from that you may have to change the boot priority in the bios, the motherboard manual will tell you how to enter the bios and make and save changes.
Are you sure it's not trying to boot from the hard drive.
As for the motherboard drivers they are installed after you put XP on.
If it's not reading the XP CD properly you may have a bad CD or CD Rom.
