Connection constantly discconects when watching videos online

I've been having troubles with my Linksys WRT54GS v2.1 router. Whenever I stream videos such as on Youtube, my connection drops everytime. My connection usually does not drop any other time unless I am watching videos. I have already looked around for help but I still haven't found any answers. I hope you guys can help me. My firmware is the latest on the Linksys website for my router (4.71.1).

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Whenever I try to watch video on my computer it keeps pausing then starting back up. It is very choppy with the constant starts and stops. What causes this and how can I fix it?

If you are watching online video this is normal for a slow internet connection. Live streaming needs alot of bandwidth. Its not your laptop.

Is it ok with a DVD movie or downloaded movie??

My Linksys wireless router shows connection but there is no online access

Check the settings of the router.
Who is your internet service provider ?
First check that your computer is able to go online when connected directly to the modem.
if you are online through the modem then you will need to set up your router.

I have a linksys WRT54GS router, every couple of : v7.50.2

I have the same router and had the same problem. I replaced the power supply and then put the unit on a UPS battery. Now it never goes down.

I have found that it 'gets clogged' .. I mean that the buffers dont get cleared if I do a lot of inbound video streaming. I can still make it hang by doing that, but the reboots have stopped since the UPS.

Video streaming that constantly buffers

At&t offers 4 speeds to its customers, 768 kbps 1.5 mbps, 3.0 mbps & 6.0 mbps.  On the 1.5 connection depending on what type of video you're watching, you will experience some glitching.  If your general internet seems slow, then scan for malware/spyware.
I reccomend you use malwarebytes free version doesn't give realtime protection

Wii connection issues.

You can check if the problem is with the internet connection going to the Wii or just the wireless connection.

When you loose connection, check the Wii's ip address. If it does not have an ip address(or ip is 169.xx.xx.xx) that means that the Wii is disconnecting from the wireless network. You can then try other wireless channels on your router.

If the Wii is still getting an ip of 192.168.x.x, that means that the problem is the internet from the router. You might need to forward ports on the router for your Wii.

If you mean by the roadrunner that you are connect via a cable, the reason why the signal may fail and stop you from watching streamed video is that wireless is only 54mbps and not the best speed for streaming, but wired streams at 100mbps and is constant speed whereas wireless doesnt give a constant true speed of 54mbps it can reduce considerably.
