Question about Insignia NS-DV2G MP3 Player

ArcSoft Media Converter

The Media Converter program that came with my Jazz DV150 runs for a bit then says that the conversion failed. I've tried using other programs, but I end up with a fuzzy movie with small colored bocks poping up around the edges. The specs page is not at all detailed. If I knew what they were more precisely (not all my mp3s play either) I think I could get everything to work fine but I can not seem to get any answers from either ArcSoft or Jazz. Could someone please help me?

Whenever I try to open the ARCSOFT Media Converter 2 a Windows message says the program has stopped working.

My son has a Philips MP3 player Go Gear sa3345/37. It has been working fine since last Christmas during my first "psychotic" episode trying to input videos from youtube into the player. I figured it out. I use a youtube downloader to convert the clips to .avi format then plug them into the arcsoft media converter provided by Philips with the MP3 player. However, when my son asked me to put more on there, it did not work so well this time. The software does not work anymore. (arcsoft media converter, I mean.) I have uninstalled and reinstalled it all completely 3 different times to try to see if this would work. All I get these days when I click on the media converter is a little message that says Windows Media 9 or higher is needed. (?) I had no trouble before loading into this coverter and don't understand why I am now getting this message. I cannot even get into the converter. My computer is less than a year old as well. (vista) Everything is vista compatible. Ideas? Help if you can. Otherwise, he has a very nice 4G memory stick!

    Thanks,

    Alicia

Good luck!

I lost the program disk to my Jazz DV-171. Now I Can't Convert Any of my images.

Through a little research I found that most Jazz Cameras come with Arcsoft Media Impressions, and Arcsoft Media Convert which can be downloaded at their website. There is a free version of the Impressions software.

Go here

BTW in case you need a generic Manual get one here

I hope this helps.

I have the philips gogear digital audio/video player(sa6185).how do i move video to the player using the supplied arcsoft media converter?i have followed the instructions but when i try to open files to...

The Arcsoft Media Converter only recognizes a limited set of file types. I would download a program called Riva FLV Encoder, and convert the files that the Arcsoft does not recognize to AVI format (the product documentation for Riva says that it converts files to FLV format, but it is quite capable of doing the opposite). Once the video files are converted to AVI format, the Arcsoft Media Converter will recognize them.

Why do i have to pay for support when i bought the product

Sounds like Philips reached an agreement with Arcsoft. Since the video conversion software is Arcsoft's, Philips does not support it. The last time I remember, Arcsoft charged for most tech support. Welcome to corporate America.

Download the upgraded version of the Philips (Arcsoft) Media Converter from www.usasupport.philips.com. If the upgraded version still does not recognize certain file types, download a free program called Riva FLV Encoder - it is supposed to be a program that converts video formats to FLV format, but it has the neat feature of being able to do the opposite. Any video file that the Philips does not recognize can be converted to AVI format using Riva. Make sure the audio feature is enabled in Riva or you will get picture and no sound. Once it is converted to an AVI, the Philips Media Converter will see it, and you can either convert the file to a folder, or you can transfer it directly to the GoGear. Note: the Philips Media Converter will not properly convert video files that are longer than 15 minutes long - in order to transfer an entire movie, you will have to use video editing software to break the long file into 15-minute chunks. You will then have to convert the chunks using the Philips Media Converter.

ArcSoft Media Converter

I have a feeling its going to have something to do with what Codecs your converter is using. To the best of my knowledge, the DV150 only supports a certain type of AVI. I'm sorry i can't be more help but i'm not really sure.

Trouble downloading music videos

There should be some software that came with the player that converts video files to a compatable format for the player.

The software is the ArcSoft Media Converter2 and the parameters should be 320x240, 512 video, 128 audio.

Another program you can try is Media Converter 2.5 intro (trial) version on the Arcsoft website. This seems to also do a terrific job at conversion.

Best of luck to you!

Downloading music onto the jazz dv 150 from my computer.

Try not running the Syn software at all. Try copying the files over manually.

After plugging in the USB cable you should get a small popup that says its connected.

Click on "My computer" and under "Devices with removable storage" you should see a new device called DV.

double click on that and you should see 3 folders. DCIM, EBOOK, and MP3

Copy your mp3 files from your computer into the mp3 folder of the camera and it should work.
