Question about Wurlitzer Jukebox Princess 120-Disc CD Changer

1 Answer

Cd not playing

When the CD started to play, it plays for only four or five seconds and then it stops playing and returns the CD back to the carosel. Now, there is a flashing number in the play selection screen and it won't retrieve any CDs at all. How can I test the CD pro function and make a determination if the CD laser is bad or if the digital board is bad? Where can I order parts to fix it?

You can clean the lens with a small amount of windex and put a little oil like 3 and 1 oil on the spindle motor shaft and on the sled rails. Good luck !

I just purchased a Rowe AMI CD-100a. It was a barn find. Once I learned to initialize, I tried to play individual tacks or entire CDs. For each track, the unit picks the CD, places it down on the player...

Could be the power supply voltage is low, possibly due to a bad capacitor, it seems that when the counter advances it is pulling the voltage down enough to cause the problem you are experiencing. If you can select a disc in the service mode, the counter should be inactive, and you can see if the disc will play through.

If a disc has been put in the slot of the disc in play, Remove the disc, whose number is displayed, and press stop button.
Because of light or noise, the changer has detected a disc in the lot of the disc being played, even though it is empty. Check whether there is a disc in the displayed slot. With front panel closed, hold down "STOP " button for atl least four seconds or more.

CD palyer will not play all Songs

It sounds like the CD has to be initialized, so the jukebox knows how many songs are on the specific CD.

To initialize a CD, go into service mode, input code 31, then index the cd number (two digits), then hit "popular". return the jukebox to play mode.
The carousel should scan and load the CD you initialized, and then return it to it's slot.

It should now be able to play any song on the CD you select.

CD player won't play random

the most likely problem is a weak or failing optical pickup. try a cleaning disc first there may be dust on the lens. do not use any liquid to clean the lens. remember this is an optical system if it can't focus properly or "see well" it can't read.
