Xerox 6180 code 133-290 nothing works,fax or copier system lock

Background is usually a cleaner unit fault, need to check out more on this point. Best to start from this point and try this to see if you can make changes.

ou may have inadvertently changed it from "Auto Fax" to "Manul". From the Xerox knowledge base website at:

Print the fax received in manual mode by:
When a fax is received, your machine sounds the ringer. Then you will hear a fax tone. Press On Hook Dial and then Start Copy/Fax. The machine prints the fax and returns to Standby Mode when the reception is completed.

To change back to "Auto Mode", follow the instructions at:

You most likely need a Windows 7 printer driver.
Go to the Xerox WEB site to download the printer driver -

This error message points to either
1 A corrupted chip on the toner cartridge.

2 The wrong chip on the toner cartridge. There are several printers that take the same basic cartridge, the difference being the chip.

If you have just bought the cartridge, return it for replacement.

did you get a solution to this problem. i have the exact same situation.

possibly junk fax feature is ON which assumes every fax you receive should have sender fax numer pre-registered, otherwise it just rejects the fax sent from an un-registered number

Before attempting to resolve the error 133. -290, print a copy of the configuration report on the copier / fax. Use the navigation on the front panel to access the configuration menu to get the impression. Review printing to make sure it understands the network settings. This is a protection against configuration settings being lost when you troubleshoot.
Clearing Memory reset the memory of the Xerox Phaser 6180MFP, Dell 3110cn or Dell Machine 3115cn to erase the stored contents and eliminate corrupted data. Disconnect the analog line and power cord from the printer. Wait at least 10 minutes. Then reconnect the analog line and the power cord. As the machine starts, press the "All Clear" "Stop" buttons to prevent automatic printing of the status page. Check the error display panel 133 to 290 times the machine is fully initialized.
