- Hey
Just an update, I ended up taking it to my service provider and they said it was a problem with the first generation of BB software, they just replaced the phone outright for me :).
-   I hate this phone!!!! I would rather have something less fancy that consistantly works, I get no text messages, I hear them come in but they just disappear, if I miss a call it will SOMETIMES tell me I missed the call but NEVER show me from who, this is a bunch of Bull!

-   I have my new Blackberry Pearl 8100 since 25-Dec-08. The first week that I got it, it looks like everything was working OK, but since beg of last week, I do not receive SMS and on and off I can send SMS although it looks like all my SMS have been sent successfully. I tried deleting all my msgs on my SMS card, but the issue persists, any suggestions/ideas? Thanks!!-   Veena N

I've been having this same problem since I got the phone. The only solution I've found so far is to turn the phone off and take the battery out for about 30 seconds. When you put everything back in it should reboot the phone and everything should start working again. Unfortunatly the issue still happens and I'm not sure whats triggering it. It has something to do with the phone's radio modem - at least I think thats what it is because the phone gives me an error message that the "radio is off". I'm still searching the phone and the web to try to find a solution. Hope this helps.
hi there, could you backup your file first and then wipe your handheld, the wipe handheld menu is inside the advanced setting, and then go to security, and then click the menu button, it will show wipe handheld, got mine similiar to yours and works ok now but remember, backup your files first tks andy
Hi, this is because BB's curves have a memory leak issue, and hwne the memory starts running out, they delete emails and txt to make cache room for the OS. Pulling the battery out while the device is on is called a hard reset, This will temporarily fix the issue, But basically it is an OS flaw with the new Curves and some Pearls.
I have a similar (but slightly different problem) that began about 2 weeks ago. After I reboot ... I'm able to send and receive SMX texts but then after about 10 minutes, it reverts to being able to send texts but only able to quickly "see" the text arrive but then quickly disappear. Then a few minutes later, I can't receive anything at all. I'm not sure what's up.
The reason your phone is doing this is because your phone does not have enough memory to store this information. I recently had the same problem and to solve it I bought a memory card for the phone, but if you don't wish to spend money simply delete all the recordings and pictures on the phone leaving room for the sms messages and call logs. The only other thing i can think of is that your phone is on the wrong number therefore, press the send button, and right on the top look at which line you're on it should be line 1 but you could accidentally have switched it to line 2.

I have had the same problem a couple of times, in fact just now, which is whay brought me here. I pulled the battery out for a few seconds and then put it back in. It rebooted and is fine now, but I'm still frustrated. If it happens again I'm going to take it back. But for anyone out there, taking the battery out should do the trick, at least for the time being.

I cant send or receive SMS text messages, and my call log is being deleted. I can only receive incoming calls, and voicemail, but my text messages keep randomly being deleted, even though I changed the settings to keep them "forever" until I delete them myself.
Yep, I got the same problem. I own a business and I need all my functions to work all the time. The bell store told me that it will take 4-6 weeks to get a replacement phone or i can wait till they figure out how to fix this problem.
i've only had my blackberry for about a month or so and just starting today all my text message history has been erased... i can send text messages... i can send and receive emails.... but i can't get my text messages...when i send my self one from my friends phone and watch my screen...i saw a notice pop up but before it vibrated or i could look at it, it just simply dissapeared... troubleshooting says check all your settings for hiding msg but everything seems fine... yet it just wont work. i might have to go in to my service provider... any suggestions are welcome....
Hi there
I have the same problem. It usually lasts for a couple of days, but this time it;s lasted over 1 week! My SMS/MMS are deleted. I can send messages, but can't receive any - apart from email. And my Call Log is deleted. So if i miss a call I dont know who it is. I tried the advice to wipe handheld - but cant find this option. Any help would be appreciated! It's been frustrating me for over a year and T-mobile have no idea!!! My next resort is to take it to the shop this evening for a repair - or replacement but I dont want to end up with the same problem again with another handset!
