Re: 1050c

You may be running out of memory. Try spooling the print job and store the memory in the computer instead of the printer.

Re: 1050c

Check your rip settings in the plotters control panel, as well as checking to make sure you are using the correct driver, if those are correct then you may have a faulty network card.
Good Luck!

Streaking on photo plots on a 1050c

Streaks can come from several sources. Since you said they appear near the end of a plot, the print heads may be running out of ink before the end of the job. This would happen if you had air in the ink tube system and consequently in the heads. When the printer is idle for a while, ink will migrate to the bottom of the print head so when you print again it is ok for the first part of the plot and then gets to the air bubble.

Open the back door of the plotter and look for air bubbles in the ink supply lines. If air is present, it needs to come out. There is a purging tool at Designjet Ink Tube Priming Tool . The print heads may need to be replaced, but not before the tube system is clean.

Does the HP DesignJet 1050c plotter have a counter?

This data is printed out on the Service Configuration Print

  1. Load the plotter with media.
  2. When the device is 'Ready' scroll the menu to the Printer setup options and press Enter.
  3. Once in the 'Printer Setup options' menu, use the arrow keys to scroll to 'Utilities', and press Enter.
  4. In the Utilities menu, use the Arrow key to scroll to 'Test Prints' and press Enter.
  5. Use the arrow key to scroll to 'Service Config' and press Enter to print the Service Configuration Print.
You should find the data you are after under the heading of Maintenance on the printout

Good Luck!

Error code 04C300 001E0000

This is an IO error. If there is a Hard Disk installed, remove it - the printer will run fine without it. If that does not solve the problem, remove the JetDirect card and run the test print. If the test print works, replace the JetDirect card. Parts available at:

Print head failures HP 1050c

the tube system has an air leak causing a dryfire situation. air + printheads = damaged printheads. most users replace the black printhead more often than the colors. the seal where the printhead feed pin fits into the carriage is the end of the tube system. the hole in the seal becomes to large and doesn't properly seal the air out. order the tube system. complete and concise instructions are included in the box for tube replacement. this is considered an end user replaceable part. good luck! please rate this!
