Question about Canon PowerShot SD500 / IXUS 700 Digital Camera
There are a couple of things you can try. First, take the batteries out and hold the power button for about 30 seconds. Leave the camera like this without batteries for about an hour and then reinsert batteries and try to turn on. If this doesn't help, try checking the contacts on both the batteries and in the camera. Get a qtip and some contact cleaner (one that doesn't melt plastic) and clean the contacts in the camera. If that doesn't help, then the problem could be with the batteries...try a new set of batteries (the charger of the batteries can also be faulty...).
