I have this same vacuum and it's only 3 months old. It had an extremely powerful agitator when new, but now when the slightest amount of pressure is put on it, such as pushing it forward, it stops! I lift it off of the floor and it spins again. I'm hoping you can help me, otherwise I'll have to return it. (I loved this model when I first got it.) Thanks

i have the same problem - power head stops rotating once you put it on the carpet, but starts again if you lift it up. I called a service center and they said its a streched drive belt ($4.99) and I can change it myself... I'll know if it works tonight.

Can you tell me the part number or where to get the cord? I have the same problem. It's was like a short, worked at certain angles but not at all now.

I was having a similar issue this week. The beater would only run if it was held at a 45 degree angle. This weekend I was in the middle of vacuuming and the cords attaching the beater to the pole caught on fire. Needless to say I have no vacuum. Not sure if it is worth or can be fixed?

How do I replace the cord? I took the head apart but cannot get one piece off to access the spot for replacement .

Very likely it's the cord at the nozzle neck. These cords flex when you vacuum and they often break internally where the cord goes into the neck. Turn the vacuum on and wiggle the cord at the powerhead and see if the powerhead comes on and off. If this happens, then you will have to replace the cord.
On some of the early models, the receptacle in the hose, where it plugs into the top of the wands, will break away from the plastic pins it sits in, and the receptacle will slide back into the handle, which means that it will not plug into the powerhead connection when you connect the hose. You can check this by looking at the end of the hose and observing if the receptacle is sitting flush with the opening it sits in. If it is pushed back, it will not make a complete connection with the powerhead cord that is sitting at the top of the wands.

I noticed the brush spins slower when the vacuum motor is running. Checked the voltage goign to the powerhead and sure enough over 3-4 seconds it drops by several volts when the vacuum motor is powered on. I noticed the wiring in this machien is very flimsy. I will be trying to run a separate wire along the hose to power the powerhead and see if that.

I did run an external wire and it helped, but so many other things on this machine were worn or broken that I tossed it for Dyson.

Power head won't turn on carpet. Was very powerful on same carpet a few months ago and has gradually turned less and now not at all on the carpet. The power head runs at full power on indoor carpet and had floors where neither need to have the power head!

Do i need to let the filter dry before using my hoover bagless hepa vacuum?

Yes, make sure it is completely dry. Other wise, very fine dirt will be much more difficult to remove.

Wiring diagram s3755 hoover

Today I shortened my hose by 4" to get around a tear problem. You can use an Ohm meter to find the right 4 wires. When looking from the top of the canister with the hose heading to your left, the wires should be:
White (furthest connector away from you)
Black - to the switch
With the Red and Blue going to the speed con trol curcuit board.

The belt keeps on slipping off causing the brushes to stop

Over time the belt stretches and gets to big to stay put all of the time. Get a new Hoover belt and install it. That will solve your problem
