Hard Drive Enclousers

I have purchased two NexxTech Hard Drive Enclousers.  They work just fine out of the box and then just stop working.  I use them on a Mac.  If it just happened once I would think I was doing something wrong.  But two different ones on different computers I just don't know.

Where I'm from NexxTech is not known to be a very high quality brand. If you can, I suggest you return those enclosures for a refund and use the money to purchase better quality hardware.

I have the rocketfish hard drive enclosure and when i started to use it on the my MacPro it was working fine then it just stopped working and stopped being recognized.

The internal connection of the hard drive has probably become dislodged. Open it up and reconnect it firmly. If that does not resolve the issue the drive may simple have died (the hard drive, not the enclosure)

My Nexxtech nhde35 ext. hard drive is suddenly not working. Now when I plug it in, the indicator light alternately blinks red/blue. The PC does not see the drive at all. Tried swapping to another hard...

Seems most likely that the drive enclosure has failed, since swapping to a different HD made no difference. If so enclosure will have to be repaired, or replaced.

I have nexxtech portable kit with a hard drive in it, it worked on windows xp, but winds 7 doesn't reconize it How do I fix this

Try your NexxTech on some other computer, to verify that it still works.

Try some other USB port on your computer.

Try some other USB device into the same USB port that you are trying to use for your NexxTech, to make sure that your computer's USB ports are working correctly.

Check that Windows 7 has loaded the device-drivers for your USB 2.0 ports on your computer's motherboard.

Nexxtech External Floppy Driver Problem

Normally windows will install any driver for a usb floppy drive automatically. If it needs one. I'm surprised that it hasn't just worked by plugging it in as there cheap floppy drives over purchased have all just worked without the need to install drivers on win xp and higher. Remember you won't see the drive appear under my computer until it has a disc inserted in it though.

HARD DRIVE ENCLOSURE RECOGNITION BY MY PC PROBLEM

Had the same problem today. I finally noticed that the pin bay on the enclosure was large enough to allow the pins to be offset by one pin set. The open pins were hidden by wires. Once I carefully aligned the pins, everything worked fine.

Lacie 250GB External Hardive to be used between a PC and a MAC

Be carefull when moving data from Macs to Windows etc. Your best bet would be to start again. It should work if you get your friend to put the data on the drive & copy it directly to your Mac. From there, you can safely copy data to the PC, but may have trouble accessing that same data after the PC has had it.
