Question about Samsung CLP 300 Laser Printer
My clp-300 will not grab the paper from the tray. It tries with no success
There are two possible solutions for this problem.
Usually it is due to the pickup roller wearing or becoming contaminated with toner or paper dust.
Simple solution, clean the pickup roller, the best thing for this is WD40, put a very small amount on a clean cloth and wipe the roller underneath the printer. Use a clean dry piece of cloth to wipe off any residue.
More complicated solution, remove the roller and reposition, you will need two small flat-bladed screwdrivers to pry apart the retaining clips, remove the roller, a tight squeeze beneath the laser housing, reposition and clean as above then refit the roller. You should find that the paper is picked up cleanly once again.
I hope this helps,

Check the waster toner cartridge. I was about to ditch my clp300 until I found this solution. Apparently the "paper jam" indicator can also indicate a slew of other anomalies:
-The printer is experiencing an error, such as jammed paper, open cover, empty paper, not installated [sic] waste toner container, or ***full waste toner container.***
-The printer is experiencing a service required error, such as LSU error, fuser error, or ITB error. Contact your sales or service representative.
The Waste toner cartridge is largish "L" shaped gray thing to the left of the toner cylinders. The manual says to replace it, but I was able to simply dump it out in the trash, wipe of and re-install.

I own this printer and the paper tray feed mechanism is very tricky. Once you remove the paper tray to refill, it takes some time to align the paper correctly for it to feed. The way I do it is add the paper and the tray has a riser in the front bottom of the tray. You have to push this down. Then you insert the paper tray into the printer. Then you slightly pull the tray back until you hear it click as this is the riser disengaging from the bottom of the tray. I then gently push the tray back in. I then flip the clear cover on the tray back and very gently push the stack of paper forward then I move the guide to snug against the back of the paper. I then run a blank page test to make sure it's feeding. I've found once you get the first one to feed the rest will feed.

Tried all the above, no go. used a small amount of wd40 on the click mechanism at the far end of the papertray. It may be this was just a bit stiff, and all was ok after that. But maybe the wd40 on the paper just hadn't had time to work.
Best of luck!

Hi I suggest to check the paper guides are against the paper correctly especially the back fence once you have tried this using one piece of paper soak the first two inches in a alcohol based cleaning solution then try printing. The printer will jam open top cover and then close it and let the machine try and print again and it will jam again repeat the above a few more times then open paper draw remove paper and wipe dry the cassette. You will notice on the paper a dirty scuff mark where the paper pickup roller cleaned itself on the solution.
Place some fresh paper in the cassette and try printing. Hopefully the printer will take paper now.
Hope this helps

Look in from the end with paper tray inserted and see if the paper is lifted up at far end.... If not the tray probably has broken pieces and needs to be replaced.
