Depending on where the cable is broken your can still release and open the hood. if it is broken inside the van in the footwell is the easiest...locate the end of the cable and with a set of visegrips pull the cable to release the hood.

1995 grand voyager hood handle broken does anyone know how to open it from the outside?

If there is nothing left of the cable to pull with pliers, you can try to go up from the bottom of the bumper cover to reach the latch.
You may have to remove the bumper cover to get to it.

Can't open hood from inside; latch has no tension

Happens all the time. Have someone "thump" on the hood with their hand while you pull the release. It will then probably pop up. Once you get it open, you need to lubricate your hood latch assembly. I recommend a light oil like WD-40. Other oils tend to collect a lot of dirt and grime and cause the latch to stick worse.

1994 plymouth grand voyager hood release cable broke wont open

Try pulling on the metal cable with vise grips if that don't work as you are pulling on the cable have someone else tap on the hood with there hand as far towards the front on the hood as possible right in the middle from left to right,if that dont work jack up front of vehicle and jack it up pretty high and block it up with jack stands or whatever and look up between the grill and the radiator and see if you can see the plastic outer coating of the cable if you can see it follow it to the latching mechanism and trip it with a screw driver or something once hood is open before you shut it use something like pb blaster dw 40 or something like that and oil up the end of the cable and the latching mechanism.

How to open hood.

You have to find the broken cable from underneath the vehicle and pull it with a pair of vice grips until it releases. You cannot relatch the hood until a new cable is installed, so have it towed to a shop instead of trying to drive it with the hood "tied".

1999 Plymouth grand voyager engine hood will not open after operating the release lever inside car. Eventually it loosens and open days after operating the lever. Any thoughts on how to repair? Thanks Ed

I had this problem on mine i loosend up the cable end by the hood latch and checked to make sure nothing was bent, you can also buy a new cable for it as it may be broken somewhere in the way for around $25. but check the end at the hood latch usually gets gummed up with grease and dirt

Will a distributor from a 1994 plymouth voyager with 3.0 engine fit a 1997 plymouth voyager 3.0?

I don't think so, 1996 was the change in computer systems for all cars and trucks

1997 Plymouth Voyager broken hood latch cable

first, try smacking the hood at one of the front corners while someone else pulls the release handle. or even after you've pulled on it. if that works, once open, adjust and lubricate the hood latch assembly. if it still won't open, and it's the cable and not the latch you'll have to replace it anyway, so instead of removing the grill, cut the cable behind the pull lever under the dash where you can reach it. then skin the outer cable insulation away from the actual steel cable exposing an inch or two of it. then holding the insulation and plastic housing with pliers, grab the steel cable itself with pliers and pull it to open the hood. then replace the cable. the further you can reach up under the panel the better your chances of getting past the broken part of the cable and avoid removing the grill. you might also be able to gain access from up under the car if you're lucky.

1994 plymouth voyager hood release cable broken

Get a flash light and shine it under the hood and use a screw driver to pull the latch over to one side to pop the hood open.
