Question about Creative Labs Zen Micro MP3 Player

Creative zen micro doesn't show so I can transfer

Hi. I just purchased a used creative zen micro 5gb. It did not come with software, but I already have the creative organizer that came with a creative nomad.
Problem is, when I go into the organizer to transfer my music files, the zen micro is not coming up. I can't get it to show...
When I go into My Computer, it does not show as Device With Removable Storage like the Nomad did, but comes up as Audio Devices.
So... the computer is showing it is there, but how do I get it up on the Organizer screen in order to transfer to it?
Thank you for your help.

Re: creative zen micro doesn't show so I can transfer

1. remove all creative software from your pc (do this from start menu/settings/control panel/add or remove programs)
2. Uninstall Windows Media Player 11 and Windows Media Player 11 runtime. This will rollback the pc to an earlier version of WMP.
3. Download the latest version of the zen driver from this location:
4. Make sure the zen is not connected to the pc and install run the exe file to install the software on your pc. at some point, the install will tell you that the unit is not connected. Connect the unit to proceed. it will also notify you that you are replacing an existing software, or something to that effect. I accepted or said OK to this popup. Once the firmware is installed, my started to work fine. You can now reinstall WMP from microsoft website. Hope this works for you.

you might want to verify that your new player has the latest firmware available, as this might address the unresponsive-button issue you're having. Firmware updates are surprisingly easy - you just download the firmware file from Creative's website, plug in your player, and double-click the downloaded file. It's that easy.

I plugged in my creative zen mozaic to transfer

You can use creative centrale, but I personally wouldn't suggest it. It is overcomplicated. Whenever I transfer music I usually just use Sync on Windows Media Player.

Creative Zen Micro MP3 5GB

May be u would have faced loose connections, for better results turn off the zen wait for 20sec and then connect it to the power and make sure u dont keep moving the zen or the cable attatched to it... Due to wear and tear loose contact becomes prone..!! Hoping for a good rating from u...!!!

My Zen Micro

Go here: -->Support -->Downloads -->Select appropriate information -->All Under the Drivers section, download 2.01.00 Under the applications section, download 9. Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.21 Or I could just email you the drivers. I have a Zen Micro myself and have the CD also. Or, you can just bypass the need for software if you are willing to use Windows Media Player 10 or 11 to transfer songs to your Zen. You can do this by upgrading the firmware to version 2.21.02. Same location as I mentioned above.
