How do I remove the dust cup and clean it?

Hey, this is Tristan with Crucial Vacuum,

In order to remove the dust cup, there's a designated lever that you slide to the left in order to pull the dust cup out. This slider is above the HEPA filter (the four holes near the bottom of the vacuum). After cleaning, you slip the dust cup back and slide the slider to the right to lock it back into place.

Below I have attached a link to the users manual for the Eureka 2997-2999 series. You should refer to page 4 to view the diagrams pertaining to my suggestions.

You can purchase replacement parts for Eureka direct from Crucial Vacuum with free shipping and an exclusive 10% coupon for readers, use code: FIXYA10

I hope this was helpful. If you would like further assistance, please feel free to give us a call at 877.750.9239. We have helpful and friendly customer care representatives on the line ready to assist you.

I can not get the dirt cup out to empty it.

Just slide the dark gray release tab, located just below the cup, all the way to open position, and then pull the Easy Empty Cup toward you.

My children cleaned our Eureka 4d boss bagless vacuum and threw the lid to the dust cup in the trash. How do i find a replacement lid? The vacuum does not work without it,

Check with a vac repair shop to see if they might have a used top. If not they should be able to order you one. You could call the customer service number located on the label of the vac located on the back or the bottom of your vac for assistance.

I am assuming that you're looking for the handle at the front of the dirt cup... Part # 28131-288N, it has been replaced by part # 74985 Dirt cup grip assembly. If you call Eureka Customer Support at 1-800-282-2886 they will be able to find you a local dealer.

You have to install the filter in the dust cup lid first, then put it in the dust cup. There are some clips that filter will fit into on the lid. Also, take a look at the maual.

Eureka Altima

The dust cup has a small gray tray that appears to be part of the cup, but is not. I made the same mistake also and almost broke the stupid thing trying to get it out. Simply push the lock to the left to unlock. Gently lift the dust cup and not the gray tray and the cup will slide out easily.
