Where can i find my accer product key on a notbook ?

Microsoft product keys contain 25 characters that are typically divided into groups of 5. The product key is typically located on an orange or yellow sticker on the back of the CD case or the DVD case. If the Windows operating system that you are using was preinstalled by your computer manufacturer, you may find the Windows product key sticker on the netboot (this includes under or around the battery).

My wifi bluetooth isn't working, i install windows vista, though my laptop is windows 7 ready

Vista most likely will not work correctly on your laptop if 7 was preinstalled. 7 is a newer version of Windows and if you just installed Vista on top of 7 you will run into issues. If you formatted your hard drive first and then put Vista on you may be ok, however Vista and 7 have different drivers that come preinstalled. Everything that your laptop needs to run with everything that it came with will be already installed, therefor if you put an earlier version on you will not have what you need to run the hardware on your computer, they won't "match up". I would reccommend that you do a system restore and go back to the 7 that was originally on the laptop. You may be able to find the drivers on the microsoft website, or compaq website. I doubt that it will work for long. Try it and see what happens and let me know if you need further assistance, hope this was helpful

I bought a notebook with preinstalled microsoft home office and student 2007 package, for which the product key supplied doesnt work. can anyone help please.

Was the 25-character product key labelled "Microsoft Windows (something)" or "Microsoft Office (something)" ?

Be sure that you have used the correct key:
* ZERO versus OH
* ONE versus ELL
* FIVE versus ESS
* EIGHT versus BEE

What you probably got was a "30-day-trial" version of the software.
So, after 30 days, you either must stop using the software,
or purchase a license-key, either at a retail computer-store, or online, through Microsoft's E-commerce web-site.

Update to windows 7 on Gateway M-1624 Notebook with vista

You can upgrade to windows 7 from Vista is pretty straight forward. All you have to do is put Windows 7 CD in while running Vista and automatic startup should show you options to choose. There's some trouble with it sometimes for example, you can't upgrade a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version, or upgrade from a higher edition of Windows, such as Windows Vista Ultimate, to a lower edition, such asWindows 7 Home Premium. If this is the case, you'll need to use the Custom option during installation. Please remember that while Upgrading will keep all of your files and programs, custom installation will NOT. So you would need to back everything up before you start. Before you install Windows 7 make sure that all of programs that you need will work on it. For more information visit this microsoft website dedicated to upgrading to windows 7 >> Have a nice day and good luck.

I recently formatted my Acer Aspire 4732Z laptop and now im attempting to install Vista on it. As it came pre-configured with Windows Vista Home Premium, will the product key found at the bottom of my...

IF it came with a Vista Install,and you are installing the exact same Vista,then YES, The "Key" on the bottom, is the right one and it will absolutely work. These units have a BIOS that has a special Activation Code inside. The Windows install "Sees" that "Code" and Activates Vista. You DO need to user an ACER Version though, this can be downloaded from the "net though, as an ISO,burn that to DVD, and you can use that.

I have lost my manual user guide for a gateway window vista, I need a code, cause I reboot it

Gateway, like most PC's nowadays, generally have a small sticker located on the outer casing with the microsoft operating system licence number on it.

If that fails, the Gateway support desk should be able to help you.

Failing that - this might be helpful.,,,

Where do I find the Product Key

Have you looked on the bottom of the laptop? Try taking the battery out and looking under that. If you still can't find it download this program that will find your key in the registry and encrypt it for you:

If you cannot access Windows to run this program that your only other option outside of buying a new license is to contact Microsoft for a replacement key. Follow the steps outlined below to do so.

If you no longer have the product key to your Windows operating system but do still have the original disc, you may be able to request a replacement product key from Microsoft for $10USD.
Here's How:
  1. Determine if your copy of Windows is a preinstalled copy or a retail copy:
    Preinstalled: Your copy of Windows is a preinstalled copy if it was already installed when you purchased your new computer. See Step #2.
    Retail: Your copy of Windows is a retail copy if you or someone else purchased Windows as a standalone software package and then installed it on your computer. Proceed to Step #3.
  2. Contact your original computer manufacturer directly to request a new product key if Windows was preinstalled on your PC.
    If your computer manufacturer is not able to assist in issuing you a replacement product key for Windows, proceed to Step #3. Microsoft may still be able to help.
  3. Call Microsoft at (800) 936-5700.
    Note: This is Microsoft's Paid Support telephone number. Microsoft's site advises that support calls to this number will incur a $40 to $60USD charge. You will not be charged this amount for a call about a new product key.
  4. Follow the auto-attendant prompts appropriately so you can speak to a customer service representative about your missing product key.
    I was able to reach a human after only three questions - not too bad, in my opinion.
  5. The Microsoft representative will take your contact information - your name, telephone number, and email address - and then ask for details about your problem.
    Tell the representative that you have your original Windows installation CD/DVD but need a replacement product key.
  6. Answer whatever questions that are asked of you. The Microsoft representative may ask for specific details about your Windows installation disc, like the numbers around the inner circle of the CD/DVD and details about what words or images that may or may not be on the disc.
    Microsoft asks these questions to help verify that the installation disc you have is not pirated.
  7. Microsoft will take your credit card information after verifying that your installation media is genuine.
    This new Windows product key should cost you $10USD.
  8. The Microsoft representative will then read you your new product key and ask that you enter it into the activation window to be sure it creates a new installation code.
  9. He or she will then transfer you to the telephone-based activation center to complete the Windows activation process.
    Note: If for whatever reason you're not able to get a replacement product key from Microsoft or from your computer manufacturer, and your copy of Windows is not currently installed (excluding you from the product key finder method), then your final course of action is to purchase a new copy of Windows.
    Find the cheapest copy of Windows.

Upgrade vista home premium

As per my knowledge, there is no version of Vista called Vista Professional like in Windows XP.
Make sure what is the version to which you want to upgrade to from Vista Home Premium to Vista Business or Vista Ultimate.
The available versions of Vista Operating Systems along with the features supported from the Link below :

However, if you want to Upgrade the current version of Vista to a higher version like Vista Business or Vista Ultimate, you need to purchase Vista Anytime Upgrade kit from any retail store or directly from Microsoft.
You can find the required information related to Anytime Upgrade Kit from the link below :

However, make sure that you had created the Recovery Disks for your notebook using which you will be able to reinstall the preinstalled Operating Sytem along with all the Preinstalled Applications and Drivers after which you need to use the Vista Upgrade Kit to upgrade to higher version of Vista.
However, if you are currently having a 32 Bit Vista preinstalled in the Notebook, it is not possible to upgrade to a 64 Bit Vista since you can upgrade only a 32 Bit of Operating System to a higher version of 32 Bit Operating System and a 64 Bit Operating System to a higher version of 64 Bit Operating System.
Hope this helps....
