No suction on carpet

i have emptied the dust, cleaned the filter, pulled stuff out of the bottom, the brush is moving, but to vaccuum my very small carpet effectively takes 15 minutes of going over it and over it again and again. please help, i'm ready to throw it out.

make sure the brush is spinning and also make sure u there is not a clog right behind the canister when you detach it from the vacuum itself
