Question about Kenmore 16602 / 16604 / 16609 Built-in Dishwasher
My wife showed me the lower rack of our dishwasher. The spikes that separate the plates/bowls etc. look like they were subject to extreme heat as the plastic on the spikes look melted and blackened. A replacement rack will cost me in excess of $80. I don't want to replace the rack and have the same thing happen again. What is causing the melting/burning of the separator spikes on the lower rack of this dishwasher?
Age/ poor quality plastic/sharp objects making contact/these are all common examples,I know there is a liquid plastic that you can purchase that really works and is safe to use.You wipe on the damaged areas and let it dry .
